About

Hello and Welcome!

Thank you for stopping by Supporting Godly Women. My name is Terri Porta, as the writer of most of the content here. I am a blessed wife, a mother, a business owner, Bible student, a budding writer, and an award winning public speaker. I have taught and been taught, the accuracy of God’s word for 15-years, and am a born-again Christian. Older posts have varied themes. You have your choice of dishes from the meaty to the sugar-coated fun. Catch up with the devotion of a verse a day, except Sundays, out of Ephesians. If you have any questions about what you read or see here contact me.

You are the reason for this blog!

Every human has stitched into their DNA a hunger to know the Truth. There is a hole in the heart that only God can fill with accurate, rightly-divided Word.

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to show thyself approved unto God a workman that needeth not to be ashamed rightly dividing the word of truth.

What happens when you study the word? Like anything else you learn, and the joy of that learning brings understanding. Understanding helps you fly free of the shackeled tyranny of doubt, worry and fear. You yearn to know what God thinks of you, how he operates, and if he really is there for you. How do we see him? How do we spot him working in our life?

There is a switch in the person who has faith. They trust what is unseen. 2 Corinthians 5:7; For we walk by faith not by sight.

What does that really mean?

There is a battle going on over your focus. You decide if you want to win that fight. Our five senses; touch, sight, hearing, smell, and taste, are the only point of reference we have until we truly learn to walk by faith. We are used to believing the words that cause doubt and play on our worst fears because that’s how everyone else does it. Changing our focus and the habit patterns in our mind is a deliberate act. For us to say instead; Joshua 1:9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God [is] with thee whithersoever thou goest. We have to deliberatly choose to believe those words and then act out on our believing.

We are used to feeling a cold coming-on, or the pain of a headache. We have to deliberatly stop ourselves and remember to walk by faith and not by sight. Force our mind and mouth to speak the words of the Word and say instead; 1 Peter 2:24b; Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness:by whose stripes ye were healed. Once this habit settles into place we see more and more of the abundant life. Habits take 21 days to build. Will you join me in building some victorious habits?

Don’t you ever wonder if there is more out there? If this is as good as it will ever get? God promises that there is more abundantly more! John 10:10; The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have [it] more abundantly.

If Jesus Christ came to give us a more than abundant life, then why are most Christians suffering?

Below are some linked posts to get you warmed up. To get you excited about your life again. When your done with those, catch up on the Ephesians study. I’m having a blast finding all the nuggets of understanding in just one verse a day. I hope you’ll join me. I pray that you will come back over and over. I hope that you will get involved on this sight by emailing me and commenting on a regular basis. I pray you will subscibe so that I can get to know you better.

    Hi,
I am the mother of 4 ages 10 through 15! The Dr’s told us we would never have a baby without invitro, but God heard our prayers, as always! We have been abundantly blessed and have learned tons over the years.

  3. Hey, Terri. I wanted to say thanks for liking my Books by Virginia Ripple page on The Road to Writing. I no longer update that blog, but you can to check out my new site at virginiaripple.com. It has a lot of the same information and now includes pictures with scripture quotes on Wednesdays. I’ve also updated the books page to include all new releases and where they are available.

I also wanted to say I’ve enjoyed reading through your blog. Very inspiring. Keep up the good work. :)
