World Without End

“Fear grips the masses as Friday December 21st, or Doomsday, nears, some believing that it will be our last day on earth,” said one reporter. Wow. We knew it was coming but now that it’s one day away, what are your thoughts? Would you like some encouragement?

I caught a commercial on the weather channel about a show that will air soon about extreme weather in space, worlds away from us. I’m interested to hear some of it but it also makes me thankful for our world, this world, earth. Did you know that earth is in a very precise position within our rotation. A few thousand feet closer to the sun and we’d all get fried, a few thousand feet away and we’d all freeze. Our atmosphere is so unique that scientist can’t find another planet like it. But what is it about this world that is so special? You might say lifeforms, human life, our atmosphere, liquid water instead of ice, etc. You’d be right about all that, but I have to disagree. This world is special because God chose it to house His family. He owns it, He created it. He put Adam and Eve here and He gave them paradise. When God does something, He does it up right.

One Way Earth-001

God Owns The World

First, lets start at the beginning. Baseball players like to think of this as the big-inning. Lol! Anyway, check out this verse.

“ The earth [is] the LORD’S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.”

“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” Genesis 1:1

“Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou [art] God.” Psalms 90:2

“The LORD reigneth, he is clothed with majesty; the LORD is clothed with strength, [wherewith] he hath girded himself: the world also is stablished, that it cannot be moved.” Psalms 93:1

Does it say the Mayans own it? Do we own it? Nope. God does. Does God have a plan to end the world? Jesus spoke of the end of a reign of power and when he returns to earth to gather God’s children in Matthew 24. I’ll let you read the chapter for yourself, but did he know when the end would be?

“But of that day and hour knoweth no [man], no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.” Matthew 24:46

“And he (Jesus) said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.” Acts 1:7

But what about the planet Earth, is it going to get hit by an asteroid or demolished somehow? He told the children of Israel and He told the latest administration in the Church of God that answer. Look where these two references are.

“[But] Israel shall be saved in the LORD with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end.” Isaiah 45:17

“Unto him [be] glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.” Ephesians 3:21

If God says something once, that’s good enough for me. He says it twice and things are getting redundant. He tells us do not fear, 365 times. And isn’t that what this whole idea does? Promote fear? Do we have the spirit of fear?

Okay, here’s my last question and then we’ll dismiss this silliness once and for all. Were the Mayans fellow believers? Were they a reputable source of information? I’d like to point out one fact about their religion, they worshipped idols. The sun-god, the corn god etc. Here’s what the word says about that.

“Their land also is full of idols; they worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made…And the idols he shall utterly abolish.” Isaiah 2:8 & 18

“And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? For ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in [them]; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.” 2 Corinthians 6:16

They did not worship the one true God.

How Long, Until We’re Convinced?

Sasha had a choice, she could either steal the headset, or she could go unprotected on the streets. Her new gang members watched her from various places in the small store. For Sasha, it was an easy grab, she’d already done it a dozen times. Now she did it for protection, for a family, for friends. She is entitled, after-all. The shop-keeper made more profit in a month, than she would see in a year. It was his payment, his charitable giving. Her hand hesitated over the neon package as she looked up and down the aisle. No one would see her. Easy! Now go. The headset disappeared quickly as she straightened and adjusted her shoulders and walked out.

Laws. Laws are established for society’s benefit and protection. But if a society changes it’s mind, do the laws change too?

Is what was right a hundred-years-ago still right today?

Sasha grew up in an environment that said stealing is the right thing to do. If she did not steal, she would not be accepted into their family unit. This happens all over today. Other countries are also known for this. I’ve heard that in some parts of the world you must conceal your wallet well or you’ll be robbed blind while walking down the street.

Thieves Law-001

What if some law-maker said, it’s about time we helped these down trodden thieves. So they make a law that you must always carry cash. Also you must wear it dangling out for all to see. Would you have a problem with that? It’s the law. If police caught YOU disobeying the law, you’d be fined or jailed. How much fairness is in that law?

Here is another scenario, spirits are eternal beings. God is eternal, the angels are eternal, the devil and his one-third evil angels are also eternal. They have been around for a very long time and will be around for a very long time. (Unless the evil angels were imprisoned by God for some reason like it says in 1 Peter 3:19.) In 2 Cor. 4:4 it says that the devil is the god of this world. The devil offered all that power and authority to Jesus Christ when he tempted Jesus in the wilderness, which means that the devil runs this place.

In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.” 2 Cor. 4:4

If the devil caused horrible things all the time, who would we run to? To our heavenly Father, correct? Yes, people would cry out to Him and the devil doesn’t want that. The devil wants the prayer, praise and worship. So how can he earn this? Also he constantly battles against praying believers who have real power to stop his actions. Well, he is subtle and sly. He flies under the radar of those believers. If he tricked Adam and Eve out of their power and authority, and they were one-on-one with God, how sly do you think he is? So sly he earned the name, the Father of Lies. He works incredibly hard to trick you out of your power and authority through the name of Jesus Christ. The easiest way to do that is to keep his movements secret. His success depends on it. So he plants a little error here a little error there. His goal is to convince you that it is truth.

“We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.” 1 John 4:6

What does this mean for Sasha? A little known word called, doctrinization. Let’s say nobody ever corrected Sasha’s thieving ways? She then decides to become a law-maker when she grows up. Sasha establishes a law that steals. Oh it’s a subtle law and it looks righteous and kind. She teaches that she doing good, and protecting people by bringing this wonderful law into the world. Stealing wouldn’t even come up. Of course, she never believed she was stealing in the first place, right? Only taking what she deserved. Her teaching is what we call a doctrine and how she educates people is called doctrinization. Over the years this doctrine becomes accepted because she teaches it far and wide to everyone she knows or who will listen. When someone opposes her, she calls them heartless and dangerously rich. They are the oppressors, she says. They are trying to take for themselves. But, is stealing wrong? We’re told that wise, (elected) law makers decided to help these poor down trodden people. Over time, her doctrine or really the devil’s doctrine weaves into our society making the error more believable.

So let me ask you; are laws changing the doctrine of mankind? How long until we, the salt of the earth, are convinced that these things are right too? How do we as Christians stand up to a law that says you must steal? Do we listen to God’s law or man’s, when man’s laws break God’s? What if our president took away our freedom to read the Bible? What if atheists convinced the majority, which only needs to be 51% of the population, that the Bible is a book of hate and pass a law that no one should believe it? Would we still, as Christians, obey that law? Did Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in Daniel 3:28? Did Daniel obey the kind in Daniel 6?

Tomorrow, I’m going to talk about when Christians break the law. Till then, think about what state our country and world is in now. Think of the law makers in China, Africa (the Sudan), Canada, Europe and the rest. How has the doctrinization of error affected our world?
