“Fear grips the masses as Friday December 21st, or Doomsday, nears, some believing that it will be our last day on earth,” said one reporter. Wow. We knew it was coming but now that it’s one day away, what are your thoughts? Would you like some encouragement?
I caught a commercial on the weather channel about a show that will air soon about extreme weather in space, worlds away from us. I’m interested to hear some of it but it also makes me thankful for our world, this world, earth. Did you know that earth is in a very precise position within our rotation. A few thousand feet closer to the sun and we’d all get fried, a few thousand feet away and we’d all freeze. Our atmosphere is so unique that scientist can’t find another planet like it. But what is it about this world that is so special? You might say lifeforms, human life, our atmosphere, liquid water instead of ice, etc. You’d be right about all that, but I have to disagree. This world is special because God chose it to house His family. He owns it, He created it. He put Adam and Eve here and He gave them paradise. When God does something, He does it up right.

God Owns The World
First, lets start at the beginning. Baseball players like to think of this as the big-inning. Lol! Anyway, check out this verse.
“ The earth [is] the LORD’S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.”
“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” Genesis 1:1
“Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou [art] God.” Psalms 90:2
“The LORD reigneth, he is clothed with majesty; the LORD is clothed with strength, [wherewith] he hath girded himself: the world also is stablished, that it cannot be moved.” Psalms 93:1
Does it say the Mayans own it? Do we own it? Nope. God does. Does God have a plan to end the world? Jesus spoke of the end of a reign of power and when he returns to earth to gather God’s children in Matthew 24. I’ll let you read the chapter for yourself, but did he know when the end would be?
“But of that day and hour knoweth no [man], no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.” Matthew 24:46
“And he (Jesus) said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.” Acts 1:7
But what about the planet Earth, is it going to get hit by an asteroid or demolished somehow? He told the children of Israel and He told the latest administration in the Church of God that answer. Look where these two references are.
“[But] Israel shall be saved in the LORD with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end.” Isaiah 45:17
“Unto him [be] glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.” Ephesians 3:21
If God says something once, that’s good enough for me. He says it twice and things are getting redundant. He tells us do not fear, 365 times. And isn’t that what this whole idea does? Promote fear? Do we have the spirit of fear?
Okay, here’s my last question and then we’ll dismiss this silliness once and for all. Were the Mayans fellow believers? Were they a reputable source of information? I’d like to point out one fact about their religion, they worshipped idols. The sun-god, the corn god etc. Here’s what the word says about that.
“Their land also is full of idols; they worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made…And the idols he shall utterly abolish.” Isaiah 2:8 & 18
“And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? For ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in [them]; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.” 2 Corinthians 6:16
They did not worship the one true God.
God Bless You Today!
