Breathtaking Moments of Subterfuge

Great white shark in captivity in the Moperey ...

Have you ever looked at the under-side of a shark? The most amazing camouflage occurs. To anyone below them they blend in to the sky or the light from the sun. Anyone above them see dark shapes like the bottom of the deep-sea. This incredible coloring pattern happens all over in the animal and plant kingdom. I love things like this because I know that it’s all part of God’s design. Just picture for a moment, swimming out of the cobalt blue ocean of darkness a lone huntress, a solitary great white shark and in a breathtaking moment of revelation those deadly jaws open quickly and consume its prey.

Mmmmm…dinner anyone?

Did you know that God equipped us believers with a camouflage? Like the quills on a porcupine and the coloring of the tree-frog, we can secretly go about God’s business without one sniff of a trail being left. Exciting isn’t it?(Eyebrow waggle needed here 🙂

It’s called Holy Spirit. God got our power and authority back through Jesus Christ after we lost it when Adam made his choice to disobey. So now we have power. Great power.

Imagine for a moment you are a cheetah running full throttle, on the arid African plains.

Can any other animal out run you? Nope. When you are moving forward and doing everything in your life the way God is telling you and directing, you not only outsmart the devil, but you outrun him as well. And you are running towards the things of God. You are busy getting things done and prospering. Suddenly out of nowhere you intersect something the devil is prospering here in this world. What do you do? IF you’re a cheetah you jump up twelve feet in the air to avoid, dodge and run, or turn and fight. If you’re a believer keep the same M.O. only with God’s guidance. The devil is out there just trying to do his dad-blamed best to prosper his evil. If you see it, which we all do, what do you do? Remember God sees it too and may want to do something about it. But he also may know that you aren’t in the place in your life to fight that battle. Spiritually we are always greater than that in the world. But in the 5 senses, that may not always be the case. That’s why asking God what to do is your greatest camouflage.

Proverbs 4:23, Guard thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

The devil is not equipped with the ability to read your mind. YOU are the only one privy to your thoughts and heart besides God. The devil can watch your actions and know you have habits of reacting a certain way, but he cannot read your thoughts. This is a huge advantage because those thoughts are where you and God hang out! Yeah! You have all the privacy you need, to think and talk to him! How exciting! Whoa! We are talking about major situations here! James 1:5, If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all [men] liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. You can pray in your mind, privately and get as many answers as you need. Then your actions, SURPRISE your enemy. Yikes! He didn’t see that one coming! You now have control back! Circumstances and situations always change. But God and his Word do not. He is always ready and waiting to help you with this life.

Here are 4 easy questions to ask God when on this journey:

  1. Is there anything I should know or do about this situation God? (Should I worry about this?)
  2. How do I overcome it if there is something to do?
  3. Is there something spiritually going on that I can take care of?
  4. Is there anything else?

With these questions you will out-run, out-smart and out-weigh anything you encounter here in this world. Remember what God put inside you is your weapon of defense and strategy.

1 John 4:4, Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

  1. Christ has made us “Overcomers” in all things in our lives, situations or circumstances. How do I know that?Hebrews 11 tells me of the heroes of faith who overcame the demonic, the natural enemies,& greatest of all the were overcomers of themselves. As they loved not their lives unto death. They were living sacrifices unto God. But it wasn’t too much to be a sacrifice as they endured what others are enduring today.Never loose perspective.Faith will always make us more than conquerers in Chrsit Jesus when we are committed to him. Sincerely Donna Bray.

    1. Very good point Donna. One of the ways we can “overcome” is by discerning truth from error. I John 4:6 Ye are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. This is part of the camouflage God gives in that we can now discern truth from error. It’s like a really great pair of night vision goggles helping you see the error someone is working to trip up those who seek the truth. How do we get “faith that will always make us more than conquerors?” I’m glad you asked. LOL! Romans 10:17 So then faith [cometh] by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Practice like you are going to play. If we fill our brain cells with error how can we expect to speak the truth? God is no idiot. He can spot error and in likewise help you to spot it too. The last thing he would want, is for his kids to get tricked into going down a destructive path in any area of life. In Vietnam the enemy used gorilla warfare tactics to flush out our soldiers. They made a path “look” perfectly harmless but then boom, destruction. The adversary will use these tactics as well. Wouldn’t it be nice to know what’s coming down your path in life? Jesus told his disciple this very thing; Matt. 10:16, Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. Be watchful but be loving. God can show you how to avoid potentially comprimising or dangerous situations with grace and style, leaving your enemies scratching their heads in wonder.
