How-to; Overcome Doubt, Worry & Fear

Are you jumping at shadows and having panic attacks? Are you reaching for your anti-depressant now thinking about all of this?

People try to pooh-pooh fear, but it is a real feeling and I’m going to aim straight for the heart of it today.

Did you know it’s available to live without fear? Yep. I told you I’m bold.

The world will tell you “NO, Fear is healthy, keep fearing for your life!”

But I say…shhhhhh.

Peace, be still, child.

Settle yourself.

If you “fear”, then you believe there is a devil. If you “doubt”, you believe that he is a real entity. If you “worry”, then you have to believe in the opposition to God, the Devil. To pooh-pooh the existence of him would be as unwise as pooh-poohing his works, such as doubt, worry and fear. Once we know where things come from, we can combat them. The success of the Devil, is when he gets you to believe he isn’t really there. The success of the devil is in the secrecy of his moves. I’m going to expose him with the Word of God. I’ve said it before, God’s Word is the standard we live by. Do you know that God also has to live by his own standard, His Word. He can do no less than what his written Word tells us he will do. Have you ever heard that statement, “If it ain’t written down, it ain’t happening?” Well, God wrote it down. How brave! How gutsy! Now, he has to measure up to his own high standard. Even the Devil isn’t that brave! The Devil wouldn’t want to expose himself to a standard. He wants to lie to you. And hide himself so he can ambush you and trick you. God knew he wouldn’t want that exposure, so he exposed the Devil for you, in his Word. Let’s explore together what it says about him.

First let’s define God. God is Light, God is Love.

1 John 1:5 ; This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

Fear is darkness.

1 John 4:16; And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

God is Light and Love.

2 Timothy 1:7; For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Power, love and a sound mind. 3 things to help you combat 1, fear.

Fear is not of God.

1 John 4:18;  There is no fear in love; but perfect (mature) love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect (mature) in love.

Just as a sniffle nose is a symptom of a cold, doubt, and worry are symptoms of fear.  There are also symptoms of Faith. Confidence and Trust are the ushers to faith or believing. You have to first learn to have confidence in God’s Word and build Trust and build Faith.

Faith overcomes Fear. How do we get Faith.

Romans 10:17 So then Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.

The Word is our balm, our cold-compress, our deliverance, and our freedom. See why God gave it to us?

Jesus knew what he was dealing with and gave power to his apostles then eventually to us. It says there in; 2 Timothy, that God has not given us the “spirit of fear”. Wait a minute? Spirit of Fear? What do we as believers get to do to unclean spirits? Do what Jesus did and taught his disciples to do. Kick butt.

Luke 10:17; And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.

Picture Fear as a cockroach, trying to get in bed with you next time. Then ask God how to kick its butt. Trust me you’ll overcome fear. Especially if you’re mad enough. Cuz’ when a believer realizes the power they have, and that the devil is just trying to hurt you, and screw with you and your family. You’ll get mad. You don’t deserve that! Your children don’t deserve that! God’s children don’t deserve that. Knowledge is nice, but applied knowledge is Power. Use that power! Kick butt in the name of the powerful Son of God, Jesus Christ!! Don’t let up. Every time it happens kick butt again by going to God’s court room and applying judgement. You have the power over doubt, worry, and fear. Fear will no longer be allowed in your “Bed” of believing. You will overcome it and all its symptoms.
