Who Gets to Taste Heaven?

Ephesians 1:3 Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly [places] in Christ.

My Son & Step Son…I am blessed.

God the author of the Bible, lays out here in Ephesians 1:3, what he is blessed with, and then how that translated to the rest of us. Is God blessed with Jesus Christ. Yes, of course. But let’s keep it in context. (You are going to learn how I study the Word here.)

I ask myself; why is God so blessed? This is the creator of the universe, it has to be big for him to record it in the Bible. He is blessed with “our Lord” Jesus Christ, the man who kicked the devil’s butt, went through being crucified and trusted that God would raise him from the dead again to become the reigning Lord. Romans 10:9-10 Once he was raised from the dead, he provided humanity with the “salvation plan”. WOW! This is amazing because God is saying, I’m blessed with the program Jesus went through. Then, God could turn around and blesses,

“us with ALL spiritual blessings in the heavenlies.”

If Jesus Christ hadn’t done what he did, we wouldn’t enjoy sonship rights, salvation, eternal-life, power on Earth to overcome our enemy. Not to mention all the vast knowledge and wisdom God provides whenever we ask. And we are blessed with ALL spiritual blessings. Imagine how many we don’t know about! Blessings that are just waiting for us in heaven. There are over 900 promises written down here on Earth in the Word alone. Now that’s a taste of heaven for God’s Kids! And imagine, the moment we actually get to heaven–after Jesus Christ returns and we meet him in the air! Orientation is gonna ROCK! I think it’ll take a few years just to hear. But it’s eternity…don’t worry we’ll have time for that.

1 John 4:4; “Greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world!”
