How Would You Get Rid of a Grudge?

Ephesians 2:15; Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, [even] the law of commandments [contained] in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, [so] making peace.

The emotional enmity (enmity/echthra in Greek could also be translated as hatred) between Israel and Gentiles as well as the legal separation, the wall of partition–and between God and all Israel– veil in the Temple torn top to bottom–Israel can go in, Gentiles can go in–nothing to stop anyone–whosoever will may come to God, for Jesus Christ took away by his death the curse of the law and its dogmatic commandments, in order that God might create out of the two, Israel and Gentiles, one new man, having established a peace treaty with God, between God and man, and man and man.

My question is…

How would you get rid of a grudge, lasting since the fall of Lucifer? What can you do today to help get you past hurt feelings and take down the wall of “Partition” between you and someone you care about? Let’s discuss it.

  1. First and foremost I must forgive with no strings attached, freely and fully. Lower the expectation rate to zero in terms of response from the other party. Make a commitment to restoration and healing by first praying for wisdom and opportunity then become a blessing through acts of kindness to the offender. That’s my remedy. I think it lines up with Scripture.

    1. William and Wanda,
I appreciate your thoughts. Grudges are a hard topic, one I don’t take lightly. Having healthy expectations is great! Most people don’t realize that if they go to God and ask what kind act to do, they will be changing their expectations already, taking them to a healthier place. It takes a lot for someone to get to that place. 95% of the problem is discovering there is a problem. Great comments! I look forward to more in the future. God bless!

  2. How can i deal with a mother who always blames me for everyones fault. From little things to hige ones. It is hard to always have a kind act when im constantly being calles hurtful names. Ive gone through this for moré than five Yrs you can say she verbably assults me nearly every week. Ive tried telling her how she affects me but she doesnt change. What can i do she is always the source of my deprssion

    1. Hebrews 6:10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have showed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints and do minister. 11: And we desire that everyone of you do show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end; 12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

Jessica, You are in charge of your own happiness. God will not forget when YOU stand on His Word. There are great and precious promises in his Word that will help with this situation. The Devil is always trying to talk us out, brow beat us out, and lure us out of the truth of God’s Word. In the end it’s up to you if you want to let the devil win. Everyone has that choice.

Hebrews 11:16; But without faith [it is] impossible to please [him]: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

How do you get more faith Jessica?

Romans 10:17; So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.

Victory is only a thought away. Make that thought– the Word. Don’t give up on God, cuz he hasn’t given up on you.
