Ephesians 4:6; One God and Father of all, who [is] above all, and through all, and in you all.
Wait just a minute here! God is the Father of ALL!? He is above all, through all and in you all? Yesterday we talked about error being systematized into people’s believing, and then here we are at this verse. And it says right there that God is the Father of all.
Okay, what do I harp on till I’m blue in the fingers?
What is our context because this verse is part of a sentence and thought? Ephesians 4:5 is all about the one faith, one baptism, the one way to become God’s kid. This is all one sentence, but you can see how the devil takes it out of context. How would he do that?
We’ve heard that we’re all God’s children, (“We’re all God’s Children” by Alan Jackson)
2 Timothy 2:19; Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
The bolded phrase says he know them that are his. That means there are those who are not his. Romans 10:9-10 If thou shalt confess… Did you see the “if” that means we all have a choice if we want to be God’s child.
And who is Ephesians written to?
Ephesians 1:1; Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus.
Another quick note here, Eph. 4:6, also says there is One God and the Father of us all. One and only one God. Deuteronomy 5:7 Thou shalt have none other gods before me. There is only one and he is our Father.
Folk error thwarts your power, efficacy and the truth planted in your heart. What does the Word actually say? Believe the Word over all of man’s doctrines and systems.
2 Peter 3:17; Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know [these things] before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own steadfastness.
Take a close look at this segment keep in mind all that you’ve learned…
Ephesians 1:17-23 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what [is] the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set [him] at his own right hand in the heavenly [places], Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And hath put all [things] under his feet, and gave him [to be] the head over all [things] to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
