3 Steps Out of a Sticky Mess

Ephesians 4:28: Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with [his] hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.

God looks on the heart and he is solution oriented. He wants you to be blessed forever which includes a change of heart.

What kind of things can be stolen? Time, energy, goods, material substance, money and more. When people steal they feel entitled to that which they stole. They feel it’s their right to have it and they help themselves. This is a problem of the heart. There is a huge lack of understanding there. Here is how to fix that sticky mess. And all three steps of the process are right in this verse.

The problem; Someone steals, he takes what isn’t his to take.

How to fix the problem:

1. Stop stealing. Just stop. A big part of this is to get away from others who steal or encourage entitlement in their attitude.

Matthew 6:20-21; But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

2. Labour with your hands doing your own business or work. When you are working hard for something you have that pride that comes from doing a good job by yourself. There is dignity in all honest work, even the most menial task.

1 Thessalonians 4:11-12; And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you; That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and [that] ye may have lack of nothing.

3. Give to those in need.  Giving breaks the chains of entitlement because you need humility to give. You have to get out of “Meesville” and give something you earned to someone who truly needs it. It’s called humility. Giving is a principle as well. When you give you receive so that you have more to give. And it goes around and around.

1 John 3:17-18 But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels [of compassion] from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

NOTE*** If the problem keeps coming up over and over, go to God, there may be a spiritual issue needing to be bound with prayer. Pray in the name of Jesus Christ and then continue to do the above steps. Eventually it will go away for good. Remember this problem didn’t happen overnight. Anything worth fighting for takes time and effort. Put your heart into the solution and trust me God will honor it BIG TIME. Hebrews 11:6; But without faith [it is] impossible to please [him]: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

  1. Dear Supporting Godly Women: Thank you so much for the message. It is so true. An honest job has its rewards from the Lord. I take dignity in doing a good job. Dignity is Godly as you said in 1 Thess. 4:11-12. I care about people and try not to make them not stumble, but to encourage them to do what’s right in the sight of the Lord. May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Rom. 15:13) Ricklee
