What Will We Look Like After The Hope?
One of the biggest things that brings peace to our soul is having answers from God’s Word. It is also the biggest turmoil in our hearts when we have confusion. God is not the author of confusion is he?
James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all [men] liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
We have to remember that our experiences are no guarantee of the truth. We may think we have experienced our loved one coming back from the grave to haunt us, but folks, as we’ve seen here in great detail in the Word of God, they are dead. They are not even in heaven. How could they be if God is going to send Jesus back and resurrect them. We have to believe the Word and not our easily manipulated five senses experiences. The comfort comes because I know that when I die, should the Lord tarry, my next conscious moment will be in this next verse. Time will not even occur for me, because I won’t be awake to experience it.
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: (1 Thess. 4: 16)
It says it so plainly and beautifully! Jesus Christ himself will descend. Now does that say Jesus Christ and all your dead believer relatives? No. Jesus is going to call YOU and THEM out of that grave! The trump of the Old Testament is a signal that the King is coming! Listen for that call.
And what’s next? “And the dead in Christ shall rise first.” The act of resurrecting all those people from the decay, or as the Bible says the corruption, is a miracle of God. They will rise first. Does that mean right when they die they will rise? No, because the trump of God has not sounded. This is one single event because “the dead in Christ” means all the dead at one time.
When they rise what will they be like? They can’t very well look like the bones, or dust or decaying flesh of zombies. That’s hardly edifying. Besides that’s not God’s style. Let’s find out from the Word.
“Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he (Jesus Christ) shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.” (1 John 3:2)
We shall be like him, Jesus Christ. This is our hope as well. But what was Jesus like after he was resurrected?
“And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: [then] came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace [be] unto you.” (John 20:26)
He was able to travel without walking or being hindered by physical objects such as doors, rooms, walls, etc.
Look at the following section.
“Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have. (I am the upgraded version now) And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them [his] hands and [his] feet. And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat? And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb. And he took [it], and did eat before them.” (Luke 24:39-43)
Jesus ate food in his upgrade. We will be like he is, and I can’t tell you how excited I am to eat a meal at God’s table! Imagine the bouquet of flavors and textures! This is our HOPE! HA! Not just the food of course, but the new spiritual body! It is going to ROCK like nothing else has ever rocked.
Take joy today thinking about the Word and the hope we have. Know that the things you go through here are only temporary. Yes, God can and will abundantly bless this life as well, but just think of the amazing life coming our way. Another truth of the hope is the renewed mind. When we get to gathering together with Jesus Christ, we are all going to have a completely renewed mind! You’re relatives will be at the rewards ceremony cheering you on for the walk you lived here on earth.
When you get discouraged think of THAT moment and rejoice!
Keep listening to God’s guidance,
because Sweetie, we’re not home yet!
“For God [is] not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.” (Hebrews 6:10)
God bless you today!
