:013 Why Should We Rejoice?

WHAT do we have to rejoice about? WHAT’s so great that we’d want to shout it from the mountain tops and let it spring to life in our souls. WHAT could possibly buoy us with the same force that raised Jesus Christ from the dead so many years ago? Why should I be so happy? I’m so glad you asked because today’s characteristic of the love of God is;

Rejoiceth in the Truth

“Rejoice in the truth of God’s Word, rather than wickedness, should bring you joy. The truth of God’s Word should be a source of delight and gladness in your life.” (CLT)

Today is the day the Lord hath made, I will rejoice and be glad in it!

Today is a day of great victory!

Today it is our turn to win!

Today we get to turn it all around! Why?

First, let’s look at the word rejoice. How can you re-joy, if you don’t have joy at least once? Rejoiceth is a verb in the future continuos tense meaning rejoice over and over, but what is it done about? Joy is a fruit of the spirit.

What is truth? Is it what you’re parents taught you? Is it what your boss or teachers tells you to believe? What about the professors at that fancy college you went to? Your husband? Wife? Sister? Etc.? I believe that the Word of God is the revealed will of God. Not just parts of it but all of it. I believe what the Word says about truth. Here’s why.

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6

Jesus Christ brought truth with him! That’s something to rejoice about. He knew he was also the way and the life for the new creation coming inside us. Jesus Christ was the witness of the Father. Here he prayed;

“Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” John 17:17

Jesus Christ knew that God’s Word is truth. He also knew more was coming after he died. He knew what God had planned, called the mystery. The mystery, that the devil could not know, was that we’d have the gift of holy spirit poured out on us and we’d become son’s and daughters of the most high God. It was a secret kept from him for ages because if the devil would’ve known, he would never have crucified the Lord of Glory, Jesus Christ.

“But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, [even] the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me.” John 15:26

Jesus Christ even confronted the devil on the truth.

“Ye are of [your] father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do . He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.”  John 8:44

If the Devil is the Father of Lies, do think he wants you believing the truth? Ah, but God knows that truth reigns supreme, He knows this;

“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:32

God deals in truth with us. Always truth. Be brave enough to see the truth!

“But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.” John 3:21

How can we do that? How can our deeds be made manifest or ever be enough to please God Almighty? How is that possible? WE cannot! But the spirit within us can. That spirit of truth, the Christ in us, the anointing, and the hope of glory!

“But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship Him.” John 4:23

God is seeking those who will worship Him in Spirit and because in Spirit, the gift to us of HOLY SPIRIT, is in truth! Is this lifting you with the force of an eagle taking flight, like it is me?

“God [is] a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship [Him] in spirit and in truth.” vs. 24

God is Spirit. He longs for worshippers in spirit, Jesus made a way for the Spirit, the Spirit is the Spirit of Truth and confirms that we have it by confirming Jesus Christ and the Word, it manifests itself through the Love of God by way of our freewill choice to worship God, thus we are doing God’s commands, which are not burdensome thereby pleasing God.

Dear one, you have this amazing gift inside you the moment you believe that God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. This is truth. When you pray in the spirit you are operating that spirit of truth and praying perfectly. You are pleasing God by worshipping Him in Spirit. Can it get any more clear than that? Isn’t this an incredible thing to rejoice over? I feel lighter and loved because of it now.

God Bless You Today!
