:005 What is the Key to Power in a Believer?

Today is a day of new beginnings. It’s a day of refreshment, hope and encouragement. Today is a day for big victories in your life. Tell yourself now. “I’m an overcomer.” Why is that important why is that vital? Because there will be plenty of opportunities in the next twelve to sixteen hours to think otherwise. Think and believe; “I am what the Word of God says I am, I can do what the Word of God says I can do, Therefore I do!”

Did you know that the neurons in our brain form a chain that connects thoughts together. God’s Word is the strongest chain you can form in your brain. Unbelief and negative thoughts build toxins inside the brain that disrupts the chain of neurons. Unbelief + unbelief always equals more unbelief. And where does that get you? On a slippery slope that leads to depression, oppression, aggression and lots more negative sessions. How can we be released from this cycle of negativity?

Build belief! It is building the Word of God in our minds. The key to power is the renewed mind. How could I know this? The Word tells me. If the Word is wrong then I’ll go down with the ship, and not the other way around.

What is the renewed mind? “Putting the Word of God in mind and acting accordingly.” God himself thinks highly of His Word.

“The words of the LORD [are] pure words: [as] silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.” Psalms 12:6

“I rejoice at thy word, as one that findeth great spoil.” Psalms 119:162

How much value do you place on the Word? The Bible is the inspired Word and Will of God. What do you need to know? Of all the experts in their field who could tell you the most about your situation? Doctor? Psychologist? Scientist? Friend? Isn’t God the greatest knowledge of all of that? His Word holds answers to every problem in life.

“I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy loving kindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.” Psalms 138:2

This verse reminds me of a contract and at the end of the contract we sign our name making it legal and binding. God did that for us with His Word.

“Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.” Jeremiah 15:16

We feed our body three times a day. What amazing growth we’d see if we fed our minds the Word of God that many times a day! Wow!

“Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.” 1 Corinthians 2:13

Man cannot spiritually remain, generally speaking, in a vacuum. Man was made to be body, soul and spirit. Man is not truly at home until he’s at home with the True God. Bring the spiritual things of God to light in your life and watch as it dispels the darkness.

“For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received [it] not [as] the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.” 1 Thess. 2:13

Tell your mind, “This is my mind and you are going to do as I say.” Make it obey. Don’t let your thoughts run amuck. Your mind is a muscle, you are in control, so get in control. Don’t let a flabby out of shape mind determine your need being met. If the Word of God works effectually in those who believe, build believing by hearing and reading and believing the Word of God. Before long you won’t even waste your time thinking about things that are contrary to the promises of God.

“According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that [pertain] unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust” 1 Peter 1:3,4

Doesn’t this take your breath away? Wow! That is the joy and rejoicing of our hearts. We partake in the divine nature because of God’s knowledge. How do we get that knowledge by renewing our minds to the Word. What does God say will eventually happen?

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away [their] ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.” 2 Timothy 4:3,4

Have you ever been around someone who won’t listen to the Word? We don’t ever want that to happen to us. So what is our defense? How can we protect ourselves and protect the Word in our hearts?

“(For the weapons of our warfare [are] not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:4 &5

The renewed mind is putting the Word of God in mind and acting accordingly. Renewing your mind is the key to power. And today is your day of victory!

God bless you today!
