You are more than a conqueror, through Him who loves you! God bless your wonderful heart today. Hey…why so glum? If your heart is heavy, your wants and needs press in on you, and you wish you had more, then you are in the right place today.
Did you know that action cures fear, but non-action strengthens fear. God did not give us the spirit of fear, but of power, and love and a sound mind. You need more, you want to achieve a new place in your life, you want God to fix things up for you…right? Then let’s get rid of fear with the next three parts of the first step towards the abundant life.
First we learned in the last posts that, the Word of God is the Will of God. We can’t touch the powerful fountain of God’s riches without knowing what they are. We have to find out what is available from God before we can ask for it. God’s Word overflows with promises. Check out the first post here. This series of posts is riddled with keys to unlocking the more abundant life.
Second, we learned that we must find out how to receive what is available into our lives. If God promises He’ll supply all our need, how do we receive that promise.
Today, we’ll study the next step. What do we do once we’ve got it? We’ve asked God what’s available, we found out how to receive it, now we must ask what to do once we’ve got that information. Here’s our example from yesterday.
Let’s continue from yesterday’s reading. Elisha told Naaman how to receive his miracle. It was a simple process. What did Naaman do next?
“And Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be clean.
But Naaman was wroth, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the LORD his God, and strike his hand over the place, and recover the leper.
[Are] not Abana and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? may I not wash in them, and be clean? So he turned and went away in a rage.
And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, [if] the prophet had bid thee [do some] great thing, wouldest thou not have done [it]? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean?” 2 Kings 5:10-13
Is Naaman moments from being healed? All he had to do was go do the procedure. Yes, but he must cross the vast chasm of his own pride. How many times do we do this?
What happened next?
“Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.” vs. 14
Wow! What a powerful miracle!
These are the first three steps, tomorrow we’ll talk about what two things have to be in place for any prayer to be answered. Spend some time in the Word today and find a promise that fits your situation. Ask God:
- What is available here for me?
- How do I receive it?
- What do I do once I’ve got it?
God bless you today!
