Two Women, One Goal

What happens when two women stand together for God? Let’s imagine for a moment two women, with the influence of Hillary Clinton and Oprah, and they were both believing believers, they knew how to operate the gift of Holy Spirit and were both intentionally striving to ask; God if you were me what would you do next? What would this world be like? Wow! What things could they accomplish and what things could each of them do for the one true God? I got so excited today when I read our next two verses in the literal usage because it is so revealing.

Here is the King James Version:

“I beseech Euodias, and beseech Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Lord. And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and [with] other my fellowlabourers, whose names [are] in the book of life.” Phil. 4:2-3

Now read the literal:

“I encourage Euodias and Syntyche to think the same thoughts in the Lord. Yea, I ask you also, my genuine yokefellow, get these (two) women together and help them, for they have contended together in the gospel with me, with Clement, and with the rest of my co-worders, whose names are written in the book of life.” Philippians 4:2-3

Euodias and Syntyche had contended together with Paul in his cause and fight. They did so separately, here Paul is saying get these two women together because they are going to be a force to be reckoned with once they do. He asks all the men to help them once they do get together. WOW! Paul was asking this by revelation. How important are women to God? How many times does it point in the Word to women operating their full potential in the the gift ministries? Here is one of them. These two women who were making impact for God on their own, now God wants them to get together. I imagine they were both very strong, maybe hard-headed women. They would have to be especially in that day and time. Imagine if a women in the community with as much influence as Hillary Clinton called , on a regular basis, another influential women like Oprah and prayed together, fellowshipped around the accuracy of the Word together and bound the devil and his cohorts together. What about teaching and ministry work? Does God want this kind of fellowship for women today? YOU BET! There is nothing like the fellowship of two committed believers. There is so much to learn from this verse it’s staggering.

Euodias and Syntyche were these kind of women. Paul asks for his fellow workers to get them together. I’ve seen so many women today, who are strong-willed and self-motivated act like they can do everything on their own. They stubbornly insist that they must get their own way or they have to have all the answers. They have to be the one in control. They have to get all the credit. Ladies if this is you…instead look at the power of being on the One True God’s Team. What could you do if you didn’t insist on being a one woman army against the forces of darkness. Iron sharpens iron. Which on a team with Olympic quality players and drive, God could move the Word even further. He could heal more hearts, deliver more people and correct more of the devil’s wrong doctrine than any other time in history.

Hey, I have an idea.

Let’s do this! Let’s put a team of women together for God now in our day and time! Let’s be His go-to girls when He needs a miracle, a healing or just a moment of rehma! Let’s band together because a three fold cord is not easily broken. Pray about it okay. If God went to the trouble to ask all the ministers of Philippi to put two women together, surely we can go to God today and do this ourselves.
