What is Your Special Ministry? Part 2

I love when my hubby buys me flowers, holds the door, or insists on a date night. These things make me feel like I’m more important than anyone else in the world to him. All of us like to feel special. But there is one thing that he does better than anything else, and it makes me feel like a million bucks. Before I get to that, I’d like to go over what your special ministry is and how you can find out what it is.

Deliverance is in the details.

In the last post, we read all the details Paul had received from God about his ministry in life. It was a pretty huge ministry and he did a great job of it. All those details lead me to believe that God has the same specifics for our life. He has ordained or called us to good works. He has equipped us fully for the journey. He has given us power to handle anything that might come up. The more people who know about and use that power the better of a place the world will be.

So what do we need to know?

We need to know that God gave us an assortment of tactical gear for our special ministry just like He did for Paul. There are nine manifestations that came with our gift of Holy Spirit (speaking in tongues, tongues w/interpretation, prophecy, word of wisdom, word of knowledge, discerning of spirits, faith, miracles and healing) and five gift ministries for the church of God (apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, teachers). Sown into this gear are billions of opportunities to serve God. Why billions? Because there are billions of people in this world. There are a zillion moments when the need for a servant arises among those billions of people. There are gazillions of moments left in just this life, not to mention the life of my children’s, children’s children, if the Lord tarries that long.  Some of those moments will change the direction of just one life, one city or the whole world, but each are special moments. God is so big He knew each one of these events before you were born. He tracked the possible outcomes and the freewill choice of a believer’s and the unbeliever in the moment. That is the moment when your calling becomes tangible and specialized.

Our job is to find out from God where our God-ordained “moments” will happen and be there with the right heart and the right time with all the knowledge of our tactical gear. A marine would never go into battle without knowing all of his gear and what his objectives are. You shouldn’t either.

If you would like to know more about your spiritual “gear”, please check out four sets of seminar tapes that helped train me at www.ChristianLeadershipTraining.com.

Now, once you know what your gear is and how to handle it, then it’s a matter of making up your mind daily. Two of the manifestations are word of wisdom and word of knowledge. These two are how you will learn where to go, what’s going on and what to do about it. They are nicknamed the revelation manifestations. Your goal is to become adept at using all nine tools in your gear, but these two help you specialize in your ministry the most. Make it your mission to learn about these manifestations.

The next most important thing is, you cannot operate these manifestations, or tactical gear, without a license.

You need a License of Love. Love as in agape, the Love of God. Agape is a freewill decision to do, say or act in a way that manifests God’s love. Agape slices deep into enemy territory, extracts the terrorists (fear, doubt and worry) and restores the land to its proper state. The land of the mind and human heart are the most important of all. Read carefully how the manifestations are mentioned below.

“Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity (love/agape), I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity (love/agape), I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity (love/agape), it profiteth me nothing.” 1 Corinthians 13: 1-3

We can endeavor to have a great ministry like Paul’s but if we aren’t willing to ask God for what the next step is, we won’t make it. Does He want you to learn to operate all nine manifestations? HE gave all of them to you didn’t He? That’s like Him saying, “Here my child, I gave you two lungs but you can only use one of them and only at certain times.” That’s ridiculous! Yet that is the depth of error that the modern-day church has sunk to.

“For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.” 1 Corinthians 14:33 KJV

“Now concerning spiritual (Grk. pneumatikos, which means spiritual matters) gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.” 1 Corinthians 12:1 KJV

God wants us to know what we have and how to use it.

Why?

Because of the gazillion moments where His love would deliver someone from bondage. God is spirit. God is invisible. He needs your hands, your hearts, your special ministry!

Will you be the one who comes through for God. My husband does it all the time. He specializes in his ministry and I can’t thank him enough because by doing so, he saved my life.

Who will you save by reaching out with God’s love and power today? It’s in those moments when you’ll really understand how incredible, one in a gazillion and special your ministry is.

God bless you today!
