Eight Steps To Optimal Health

Here’s another favorite reposted from a few months back. Enjoy!

If you’re like me, you’ve tried every diet out there and are frustrated with the results. Finally, I found something truly inspiring! I was digging through some old teachings and found this research done by a friend of mine whose studied what he calls the trifecta of optimal health.

There are three parts of our being; body, soul and spirit. Make each one healthy, and you have a trifecta.

When God put Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden they had everything they needed right there for their bodies to survive. They also had their connection to God through Holy Spirit and they had a vocation. The vocation kept their souls healthy and they kept their minds renewed on God, until they didn’t, of course, and that’s a whole other topic. This is the original plan for our MO, mode of operation. God had original functions and designs for everything that is pure, healthy and prosperous. The devil is the one who twists, distorts and steals the pureness from the original creation. The devil cannot create anything so he has to change them and destroy the original plan.

Today, I want to share the optimal plan for our physical health that I found on this teaching. It is simply a guide to what is available to every believer. I think you’ll really enjoy it.

“Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;” Psalms 103:1-3

“Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.” Proverbs 3:7-8

“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” James 1:5

These three verses are for your renewed mind on the subject of health. There are many more in the Bible but memorize these and put them in your arsenal so that when the temptations to stray come up, you have some “go-to” verses on the subject.

Here are the 8 Steps.

      1. Drink plenty of water.
      2. Eat and drink the diet God recommends for you; adding, deleting and/or changing items that God directs you to add, delete and/or change.
      3. Take the correct amount of vitamin/mineral supplements as God directs you to do so; adding, deleting and or changing items that God directs you to add, delete and/or change.
      4. Exercise as God directs.
      5. Floss and brush your teeth daily.
      6. Keep your mind renewed with God’s Word; regularly checking in with God on stuff.
      7. Learn how to receive healing from God.
      8. Learn how to operate gifts of healing.

Are you surprised? Yeah, I guffawed when I first read this list, because it’s a very basic and simple plan. The first five are physical maintenance suggestions. The last three are for your soul and spiritual health. The gift of healing is just as important to learn how to receive as it is to learn how to operate, but nothing on this list is difficult. I promise all these steps just takes discipline and a renewed mind.

Some of you might complain, “I don’t know how to hear from God” or “This is too hard.”

If your boss asked you to do a list of 8 things in the morning before the phones start ringing, wouldn’t you do it without blinking? This list is for optimal health from our Maker, the guy who put all those teeth in your skull and all those arteries in your heart. If it makes it easier, think of this list as a to-do list for work.

Remember this verse about those above memory verses.

“For the word of God is quick (alive), and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12

When you put the Word in mind, it goes to work on all the intents of our thoughts and heart. That’s ITS job. It divides the error, doubt, fears and replaces it with right doctrine and right believing. So memorize, memorize, memorize and let the Word of God and what God reveals to You, go to work on that body image. Every time a negative comes in your mind, replace it with three positives and keep on trucking. You can do this. And I promise it gets easier with practice.

God Bless You Today!
