Are we living in the fullness of faith and freedom? Are we truly realizing our potential?
Women, throughout history, have not been truly free. In countries around the world, and through the corridors of time, women have had to endure without freedom. A few women (many of whom were born to privilege) went above and beyond and set themselves apart, but even then it was short lived and never gave freedom to generations of their fellow daughters, sisters, and friends. True freedom is not in the blood line, country, station, status or law, it is in faith, or believing. Never has there been a time of greater freedom and liberty for women then when they believed on the name of Jesus Christ.
Women are free because of their believing in Jesus Christ.
Look at the woman with the issue of blood.
“And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, 26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, 27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. 28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. 29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in [her] body that she was healed of that plague. 30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes? 31 And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? 32 And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing. 33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. 34 And he said unto her, Daughter, (she was a believer if he called her daughter) thy faith (believing) hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.” Mark 5:25-34
Here’s another record and there are many more.
“And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself. And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity. And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.” Luke 13:11-13
Whenever we lose the truth of the greatness of God and the truth of the freedom in the Lord Jesus Christ, women always lose their freedom. You always see slavery. No country has given women freedom without a knowledge of the true God and His son Jesus Christ. If they do not believe in Jesus Christ as the son of God then women are enslaved in that country, time, culture and society. She just becomes a thing. But when the truth of God’s Word is there women are of the same believing seed, and the promise God spoke of to Abraham not genetically but of believing. They become “Daughters” of Abraham, they were the daughters of the first one to be accounted for by his faith as it says in Romans 4. Many times in the Bible, when it says the seed of Abraham or the promised seed, it means believers. The promised seed was made manifest on the day of Pentecost through what Jesus Christ did for men and women.
This should empower us? Yes! Absolutely! You may say, Terri, we live in that freedom! Today women are freer than they have ever been. And I would agree. But I’d like to take a moment to show you an alarming decline in the daughters of faith and freedom. True faith or believing is when women pray with power, they know all nine of the manifestations given to us by God through His gift and can use them whenever needed in their family or life. This knowledge is disappearing. Faith is fading from our understanding. Error is eroding the potent use of the power of all that God gave us through His son Jesus Christ. How do I know this?
I see an alarming rise of the insidious belief that women are sexual objects. Pornography is at an all time high. Divorce, infidelity, fatherless families and socialized acceptance of casual sex, these all soar at an all time high. Is there not a place, society, or era where women are thought of as a “thing” more than in this time of Victoria’s Secret? Women say they feel empowered by sex and femininity. I do not deny that. But when did we become servants to it? When did we cross that line?
If freedom to women comes through the faith of Jesus Christ, and slavery to women comes without it, we should now, as women, be on guard of our children like never before. The devil’s two tricks and strategies have always come from two angles, pleasure or pressure. We must stand strong on one thing and that is the faith, the message of hope, and the deliverance we gained as fellow believers through God and His son Jesus Christ. I’d like to close with this short section in Galatians.
“For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” Galatians 6: 26:29
Times are changing, but are they really taking us further away from slavery? A threefold cord is not easily broken, meaning if we stand together in our faith women, we can remain free.
God Bless You Today!
