How Does Faith Really Work?

Let’s say you have a need for cold hard cash. Something as big as money shows up in almost every area of life. So how does faith work when you have a big need like this? What is the process for obtaining your need?

Money is like any need. A need says, I don’t have something therefore I must find a way to get it. Money isn’t always the need. We may think we need money to buy a new car, when really we just need a new car.

There are five steps to getting our prayers answered that I talk about it in my seminar “How to Get Your Prayers Answered“. This seminar is about an hour-long and has a lot of in-depth training. (Which IS YOUR HOMEWORK by the way. See I told you there’d be homework.)

Our faith seems like a fragile thing. One day it’s there, the next we are balling our eyes out because we messed up big time. That’s where Christians get it wrong. It’s not our faith that is missing, it’s our perspective about God’s faith (of which we borrow) that is missing.

At the end of “How to Get Your Prayers Answered” I talk about one of the last steps of five which is, God is able AND willing to do above ALL you can ask or think. It’s easy for me to believe God is able to meet my needs. My goodness this is the guy who placed all the stars, planets and moon in our sky. Of course He can help me with some extra coinage. But its GOD’s willingness that had me hung up.

Why would God be willing to help a schlub like me?

Here’s an analogy. You have a flat tire but you don’t have a jack. I pull over to help you. I don’t have a jack but I’m willing to help you in any way possible. All you need is someone with a jack and you’ll be set to go. So I drive away. I was willing, but not able. Then, Simon, from the X-Factor, pulls over and he has a jack, but decides he is not willing to help you by lending it to you. Simon was able but not willing.

God is BOTH able to help you with every need and willing!

“19 And being not weak in faith, he (Abraham) considered not his own body now dead, when he was about a hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara’s womb: 20 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; 21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.” Romans 4:19-21

Abraham was almost a hundred years old and Sarah was in her spry nineties. These two were about to have their firstborn son together. WOW! That took faith! What is that last statement? Abraham was fully persuaded that what He (GOD) had promised, He was able also to perform. We need to come to that place called “fully persuaded” too.  How do we become fully persuaded? BY doing the first five steps in that podcast I listed above. WE decide that AIN’T Nobody or Nothin’ Gonna Take My Faith Away.

Worry, doubt and fear come at you and you put up your shield of “fully persuaded”, or your shield of faith. Stay “fully persuaded” that God is able and willing, with His much bigger ability and faith, to help you. Okay, so why is God so willing?

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

Isn’t that always the reason. Ha. Yes! Love energizes believing or faith. God so loved that He gave. How do we so love that we give? We get to know the Author of Love. The more we look into the immobility and surety of God’s “fully persuaded” faith the more “fully persuaded” we become. And the more faith we have.

“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17

Here’s the bottom line. You Got-Ta Got-Ta Hear the Word Baby!

🙂 (That was my effort to write James Brown singing something good into my blog)

Our “persuaded” comes from hearing God’s Word. That shouldn’t surprise us. No wonder I have a podcast for you to listen to. That free podcast is LOADED with things I’ve learned over the last twenty-years of studying about Faith. There are five fail-safe, no-holds-bar, rubber-meets-the-road steps that work every time you use them. Why is that your homework? Because it helps you learn the procedure and become more fully persuaded!

How does faith really work? You become persuaded that it does then God backs up that faith with HIS power might and miraculous, earth-shifting might. It’s not our faith that moves mountains, we are merely human. It’s our faith, even as small as a mustard seed that is fully persuaded in Love that energizes the faith of God. His Might and our perspective about it moves mountains.

And the bolder your believing, the higher your success!

God Bless You Today!
