What difference can a day make in your walk with God?
“But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day” 2 Peter 3:8
God knows each and every one of His children and is personally involved in their lives. How could one of our days be like a thousand years? Well, God is so fully aware and involved in so many lives, that each day is filled with at least a thousand years worth of blessings, details and deliverance. If we thought about time the way that He did, it would take us millions of pages to write out one little day. There are people being born, people falling asleep, people needing other people, and a quadrillion details in between all over this planet that God takes care of for us.
So what could one day change in MY life?
Well, thank God we don’t have His job. Comprehending and understanding God is no more possible than the bread comprehending the baker. But we can be more intentional with our days. And each day try to drive a little harder towards God. I often ask the question: “God if you were me what would you do today?” Each day we can work to ask that questions one more time than the last day. If we fail, as in turf in our teeth fail, we need to remember that,…
Yesterday ended last night.
We have the choice to keep dragging those failures along with us, or we can let go of them. That doesn’t mean you don’t take responsibility for them, it simply means you don’t beat yourself up over and over.
“Be ye careful (anxious) for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
“Finally brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” Philippians 8:6-8
Why would God tell us, His little kids, to think like this?
He made us. He knows our minds can only hold one thought at a time. If we are thinking positive thoughts, we will have peace. If we stop worrying, we see results. It is principle and amazing how things turn around just by controlling our thoughts!
Are you hanging on to something from yesterday? Fill your mind with that Word of God today. Be intentional today. If the failure tries to sneak back up, ignore it and make your mind track down the positive instead. Great cargo comes in over quiet seas. Your mind is the sea for God’s great revelations and blessings, keep it quiet and thankful. Before long your days will fill with sensational truths and peace.
God bless you TODAY!
