2 Things To Remember As You Grow With God

Some days, the work that needs to be done creeps out of its allotted time slot and other emergencies creep in. Suddenly your whole day is shot. How can we get anywhere with that kind of take over? How can we grow with God? Is He upset that we haven’t spent more time with Him or working on His endeavors?

These are questions I used to ask myself all the time. Until I really understood two things that changed my walk forever.

First,

God is not mad at you.

Nor, will He ever be. That would imply that He stops the whole universe of activities just to sit and stew about you. Does that even sound like the God of Love? He can only give what He is. God is Love, God is Light. In Him is no darkness at all. God knows you have a busy schedule and life. He knows what challenges we face everyday. The freedom comes when we give Him our schedules and ask for help from God when prioritizing. Then we see that His Word becomes living when we live it. The Word becomes loving when we love.

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” Romans 8:1

Right now there is no condemnation because we live in Christ. So many of us have preconceived notions that we have to go on a mission trip or teach Sunday school in order to really serve God. Serve Him everyday by asking how He’d handle situations. Get in the habit of asking Him first.

Second,

It is Just as Easy to Think Good of People, as to Think Evil.

So many people think evil first of those around them. Why? Is that productive? When it comes to moving on in your life and dealing with issues, absolutely not!

“Charity (LOVE/AGAPE) suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.” 1 Corinthians 13: 3-7

“Charity” is the Greek word “agapeo”, which means; the love of God in the renewed mind in manifestation. This love is a spiritual love and a conscious decision. We must embrace it by choice. IF it is just as easy to think one thought as it is to think another, just decide to think the loving thing. Think about what you are thinking about. It’s your mind. It’s your choice. We are not victims of our choices, we are Ambassadors for them.

I think the biggest changes in the walk of a believer come after they truly understand God and have the right perspective on Him and when they fix their thinking about other people which includes themselves. I shouldn’t be so surprised that those are the biggies. After all, Jesus did say these words.

“Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” Matthew 22:37-40

God bless you today!
