018: 4 Shocking Things that Shatter Fear

“I want to live in the fast lane. I want to reach for the biggest life I can”, Cynthia thought to herself. “So why can’t I get through this blockage of fear? Why can’t I break down that feeling right at the moment of needing strength? I want something big to start happening. I want to win the metal and not settle for any less.”

1. Embrace Truth

All truth needs is proclamation.

And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you freeIf the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”John 8:32 & 36

Let truth do it’s work. What is truth’s job? It shatters fear by making you free! So proclaim it over every situation that comes your way. There is one event that caused 12 men to come out from hiding behind doors, locked in fear, to the front of spotlight. What event? The pouring out of the gift of Holy Spirit.

2. Receive Power

“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you:” Acts 1:8

This was a promise, and it was true for the apostles on the Day of Pentecost. Is it any less true today? Absolutely not. We serve a living and very powerful God. When we believe God raised Jesus Christ from the dead, we too are given great power. Power over the adversary in every situation of our lives.

They received power. “Received” there is the Greek word Lambano, which means they received into manifestation. They had to believe and act. That brought the power out. God cannot steer a parked car. There needs to be action. Action declares your motives. If someone says they want to run a 4-minute mile and a week later they haven’t worked out once, I know they are not running in anything. ACT is a little word, but it shatters fear, motivate you, empower the goal and manifest power. If you want the power, you will act. In this case that means speak in tongues, ask God for word of wisdom, and word of knowledge. You will endeavor to learn. We are partners with God, not robots under His control. We must do our part.

3. Focus on Your Thoughts and Think Positive

Our thoughts are like the captain of the ship. They direct where the ship goes. Will the boat drive into a chaotic storm of confusion and become powerless against it? Or will our thoughts direct us to the promise land of peace, love, power, the renewed mind and the rightly divided Word of God? Only the captain decides.

“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” Isaiah 26:3

STAY. That is a great word. Stay your mind on God and His Word. When you do that, it’s like sitting down to your favorite meal. A meal where fear is not invited.

“Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.” Jeremiah 15:16

4. Work Hard

Work hard and heartily unto the Lord. Your work is the cultivation of a prosperous life. It doesn’t just happen. You have to work at it. Get some sweat on your brow. God thrives in the common everyday routines of the believer who won’t give up. Be diligent. And hold on to that.

“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.” Colossians 3:23-24

Let God reward you. What would a reward from God look like? Freedom from Fear, Power over it, Peace, Joy and an inheritance that propels you through eternity.

Why are these four steps shocking?

They are ridiculously simple. That’s why they are shocking. The things of God are simple but they are easy as well. How hard is it to get up in the morning? Not hard. Just prioritize and get up a little earlier so you can study and read the Word.

Four shockingly easy and simple steps lead to a life most people dream about. God knows you best, ask Him how to get started. Then do it now.

God bless you today!
