Are You Okay?

“Something seems wrong, are you okay?” Sally asked her best friend Megan as she got out a mug for her coffee.

Megan smiled. It wasn’t her full excited smile, just the little half-smile or quarter smile she tried to palm off as a real smile.

Sally patted her shoulder, “Ya know. Jesus Christ could come back today.”

Megan’s smile grew until finally she sighed in relief. “You’re right. And if he does I’m gonna be so excited.” The warm java streamed into her mug from Sally’s pot.

“Why not be excited now?” Sally shrugged. “We’ll have no bills, no stress, no sin, sickness or disease. No strained relationships, no worries, no devil to battle. It will be awesome! We’ll get to see all our loved ones who believed Romans 10:9-10 and died before us. There will be no grief for them. We’ll meet them in their air!” Sally sat down across from her.

Megan sighed. “It’s gonna be amazing.”

“Why can’t we live like that now? I mean think about it. John 10:10 says we were given life and a more abundant life. Why can’t we have it today? The Word says we can believe for awesome things to come to pass.” Sally asked.

“Like what?” Megan had prayed. She just didn’t know what else to do.

“Well, like that verse in Mark. “”Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”” Mark 11:24. When you pray then you believe. Believe is an action word. You have to take believing steps.” Sally sipped on her cup of Joe.

“Okay, so I prayed for a a friend of mine to stop saying mean things about me. How can I stop her from talking bad. It’s totally unwarranted and she’s mad because I put my foot down on her using me anymore. How do I take action there?” Megan’s heart spilled over with the pain. The truth was her friend was slandering her on Facebook, she was spreading rumors to all her family, and she was belittling her church. She had become a bully.

Sally thought about it. “Well, God knows exact situations spiritually as well as in the physical. We can pray for her tongue to stop, but God can give us the exact recipe. Why don’t we pray now? Because this definitely sounds spiritual.”

“What do you mean, “spiritual?” Megan asked.

“Well, the devil is a bully, devil spirits are just bad angels that work for him. You are being bullied and it was working until you said no. It talks about, in the New Testament, how the apostles would cast them out in the name of Jesus Christ. They could even ask which ones they were dealing with. This is how you get your abundant life. You take it back.” Sally rose and grabbed her Bible then returned to a thoughtful Megan.

“That makes sense.”  Megan said. Her perfectly plucked brows furrowed over her nose.

“Look at this verse. Jesus was about to go to heaven, so he gave these last instructions to his followers. “”And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;” Mark 16:10. That is us too. We get to see these signs and wonders as well. But you have to believe for them to happen. Let’s pray.” Sally grabbed Megan’s hand and she began with thanks giving.

By the end, Megan’s heart sang. She knew miracles were occurring as they had prayed they would.

“Megan,” Sally said, “the same power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead is available today. All you have to do is let God guide where and how you should use it. Do you feel better?” She asked as they rose from their seats.

Megan’s smile lit up the room. She hugged Sally. “Yes! Thank you so much! I’ve never had a friend like you.”

“That’s too bad, cuz I think that’s how all Christian friends should treat a problem. God has the answers we just need to get them from Him. Have a great day!” She waved to Megan as she watched her practically skip out the door.

She sat back down and read the rest of Mark 16. SGWgal

“So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.” vs. 19, 20.

God Bless You Today!
