Hello and Welcome!
Thank you for stopping by Supporting Godly Women. My name is Terri Porta, and am the writer of most of the content here. I started this group at the end of 2009 and added the official blog and website resource February 14th, 2011. I am a blessed wife, a mother, artist, a business owner, Bible student, a budding writer, and an award-winning public speaker. I have taught and been taught, the accuracy of God’s word for 20-years, and am a born-again Christian. Older posts have varied themes. You have your choice of dishes from the meaty to the sugar-coated fun. If you have any questions about what you read or see here, feel free to contact me.
How Long Have You Read the Word of God and Yet Lacked in Understanding?
Every human has stitched into their DNA a hunger to know the Truth. There is a hole in the heart that only God can fill with accurate, rightly-divided Truth straight from the Word of God.
2 Timothy 2:15 Study to show thyself approved unto God a workman that needeth not to be ashamed rightly dividing the word of truth.
What happens when you study the word? Like anything else you learn, and the joy of that learning brings understanding. Understanding helps you fly free of the shackled tyranny of doubt, worry and fear. You yearn to know what God thinks of you, how He operates, and if He really is there for you. How do we see Him? How do we spot Him working in our life? We grow our faith.
There is a dynamic difference in the person who has and operates faith. They trust what is unseen. 2 Corinthians 5:7; For we walk by faith not by sight.
How do we Win this Fight for our Faith?
There is a battle going on over your focus. The sight verses faith battle goes back to Adam and Eve. Only you can decide if you want to win that fight. Our five senses; touch, sight, hearing, smell, and taste, are the only point of reference we have until we truly learn to walk by faith. Changing our focus and the habit patterns in our mind, is a deliberate act. For us to say instead; Joshua 1:9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God [is] with thee whithersoever thou goest. We have to deliberately choose to believe those words and then act out on our believing.
We are used to feeling a cold coming on or the pain of a headache. We have to deliberately stop ourselves and remember to walk by faith and not by sight. We must force our mind and mouth to speak the words of the Word of God and say instead; 1 Peter 2:24b; Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness:by whose stripes ye were healed. Once this habit settles into place we see more and more of the abundant life. Habits take 21 days to build. Will you join me in building some victorious habits?
God promises that there is life more abundantly more! John 10:10; The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have [it] more abundantly.
If Jesus Christ came to give us a more than abundant life, then why are most Christians suffering?
Below are some linked posts to get you warmed up. They’ll get you excited about your life again. When your done with those, catch up on the Ephesians study. I hope you’ll join me. I pray that you will come back over and over. I hope that you will get involved on this sight by emailing me and commenting on a regular basis. I pray you will subscibe so that I can get to know you better.
These are just a few there is so much more! Have fun and I hope to hear from you soon!

I have recently shifted to full-time as an artist. For the last 4 years I have enjoyed putting paint to canvas more than I can possibly describe. God has blessed this part of my life abundantly and I can now say my award-winning art has been bought and sold all over the world. Click here to see some of the latest work coming out of my studio. If you’re interested in one for your wall, just shoot me an email. I’d love to chat more about them. Family comes first around here, so if you send me an email please allow 2-3 business days for a response. Take care and I am looking forward to hearing from you.
