1 Key to Huge Growth with God

Few people ever achieve sucess without this one elemental key in their walk. What is it? Well, first let me tell you about Allie.

Allie is finishing up her law degree, as I write this. I have become very close to her over the last three years, to my absolute joy. There have been ups and downs in her journey through college and law school. There have been late nights, and early mornings, tougher than tough tests, and longer than long legal papers to write. Her journey has been like say, the climb to Mount Everest. Yet there has never been one time I’ve heard her say, “I want to change my mind about college.” Though she may have felt that way, she has never uttered those words to me.

What does she have that keeps her going? Why will she succeed where others fail? Allie has grown through making, striving and holding on to a very personal commitment.

Personal commitment is not an option, it is a necessity!

It is also a sign of maturity. What does that mean about our walk with God? Well, a committed person sacrifices themself for the commitment. They make choices to avail themself towards the commitment and cause. They consider the commitment worthy of instruction, time and resources such as money, housing and career choices. In general, personal commitment is paramount to one’s success in life. In the God picture, it is the difference between a spiritual cripple and a spiritual victory.

How does God say this in the Word?

“Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect (mature) man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ, That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ;” Ephesians 4:13-15

There is a striking difference between someone committed to renewing their mind and operating God’s Love and someone simply attending church, reading Christian literature and talking the Christian-eeze lingo. In other words, there is a striking difference between true humility and religion. There is also a striking difference between the results they get as well.

If you don’t live the Word once you learn it, you will become spiritually handicapped.

Does a blind man see the obstacles in his path? No. Spiritual blindness, ignorance and naivety is just as dangerous. You have only one life to live and give, so give your utmost for His highest. There are hard days, yes. It would be immature to say every day is easy. But there is security and a surety when a personal commitment manifests through your believing and in your life. Nothing tops it. Nothing says, leadership, like commitment. Not just commitment to a church service or men’s traditions, but to God and what He really wants in your life. A man or woman walking with God can never be pigeon-holed by society. They escape it by walking in love.

Do you want to see extraordinary growth with the one true God? Then make a commitment to a morning routine. Ask Him if He were in your shoes what would He do with your time. Make the commitment to only read God’s Word. Throw out all the “Christian-eeze” and “churched-up” media. God WROTE His Word for YOU. If it doesn’t make sense, keep trying. Learn the keys to studying it and rightly dividing it.

“This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk in the vanity of their mind, having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart; who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleaness with greediness. BUT YE (YOU) have not so learned CHRIST; If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him as the truth is in Jesus: That ye put off concerning the former conversation, the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; and be ye RENEWED in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.” Ephesians 4:17-24

God bless you today!

What Is the Devil’s Greatest Fear?

The devil is a monster.

He feeds on and produces fear. He plants it, cultivates and delights in it when he sees it growing in you. But what is his greatest fear? What could make the Father of Lies, and the Master of Heartache tremble and shrink back? What could make him afraid of you? There is one thing that even the smallest child can do. IMG_0115

The adversary’s greatest fear is that you will know and believe your own sonship rights through Christ Jesus.

The day of Pentecost was the spiritual shock of the ages and it gave you rights in God’s kingdom that you never had before. Adam and Eve lost any rights they may have had when they disobeyed God. So from that point on the human race couldn’t be righteous alone. They had laws and had to obey or be swallowed in their own unrighteousness.

The day of Pentecost didn’t just give you rights, it gave you authority. What does the devil fear? What will stop him in his tracks? WHAT is the one thing that will knock him from his self-made pedestal? You believing in your own birthright! And the bigger your believing the higher your success! NO ONE spirit had 24×7 access to the Most High Throne Room of God.  But you do. No One had been blessed with ALL spiritual blessings in heavenly places, the angels had limitations. But you are. No ONE has Authority against the Father of destruction in this world. But you do through the powerful name of Jesus Christ. YOU have that! WE DO! I DO! Claim your rightful spot. Challenge yourself and believe the TRUTH! You are a child of the MOST HIGH GOD! When He tells us, “But MY GOD SHALL supply ALL your need according to His riches in Glory in Christ Jesus.” in Philippians 4:19 That means you, now, in the moment you’re in. Do you dare to believe? It is our job to believe and change our minds.

“Finally brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, what soever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” Phil. 4:8

When circumstances try to defeat us, it is our mental strength and stamina that refuses to let them. The days of negative and defeat are over for we are the Sons and Daughters of GOD!

“Finally brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Ephesians 6:18

This is our reality and our truth. It is also our choice. Choose to pray and believe! Be a overcomer. Live in the effervescing and white-hot energy that comes from embracing power and truth. Today is your day for victory!

“What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31

God bless you today!

You Are Not Alone, But Can Fear Make It Seem So?

God never intended for us to live in fear.

“1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: 2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. ” Romans 5:1-2

We know Jesus Christ is the reason for our hope. We know he gave us access to the throne room of God Almighty Himself where we can stand, free from sin and without a sense of sin, sickness or guilt. That’s all been done. Our bond has been paid. We are free. Now what? Why do we sometimes feel so alone in our fears?

How do we get our faith to clobber the fear?

Fear is like a pain in your leg that you don’t understand. There’s no blood oozing, bruising or brokenness visable and yet you are in excruciating pain. So when you try to stand on it, you collapse. This is what fear does to our faith. We try to stand on our faith, but we collapse because of this invisible pain.

arms up-001

How do We get rid of fear?

There is a 3 Step Recipe.

  1. TURN ON THE LIGHT. Light dispels darkeness, everytime and without fail. So…turn on the light!

“What time (In the times) I am afraid, I will trust in thee. In God I will praise His word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me” Psalms 56:3-4

“But the salvation of the righteous is of the Lord: He is their strength in time of trouble.” Psalms 37:39

“Delight thyself also in the Lord; and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord: trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass.” Psalms 37:4-5

“I sought the Lord and He heard me and delivered me from all my fears.” Psalms 34:4

“O Taste and see that the Lord is GOOD: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.” Psalms 34:8

“Therefore, my beloved brethern, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.” 1 Corinthians 15:58

Sometimes it seems like hard work to overcome fear, but really it’s just changing our mind. We do it all the time about silly subjects, like what’s for dinner, or what to wear. Fear, put in the right perspective, is just as simple to change our mind about. It is however, completely useless to use not-not thinking to overcome fear. We can’t tell ourself, stop being afraid. Or I’m afraid of …. so I need to stop. What are we confessing?  That we are afraid. Confession is highly potent. What does Romans 10:10 say about it? “For with the heart man believeth onto righteousness….” The heart is where we believe the fear or faith. “…and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” The mouth can confess unto destruction too. We have control over that don’t we? YES. It’s called freewill baby.

2. Pray about it then get moving. 95% of the Problem is realizing there is a problem. Fear is not of God because God is Love.

“There is no fear in love; but perfect (mature) love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.” 1 John 4:18

Sometimes there are fears in our life that we don’t know about. We should want to eradicate all fear from our life because none of it is from our Father in heaven who loves and protects us. How do we eradicate fear even the sneaky ones? Well, fear’s one purpose is to paralyze you, stop you and make you retreat. So when we trust God and ask Him what to do next, as often as we breathe and think we stay moving in His Will by His guidance, we keep moving. The devil can’t hit a moving target. The world will tell you to stop and analyze the fear. I say, get moving, by God’s direction. After a short while we are so busy moving forward with God’s plans we forgot to sit down and be afraid. Prayer is a two-way conversation. The answers from God on what is next, is next.

3.  Gas it Up! We must use spiritual fuel to the spiritual flame. God says in Malachi 3 that He will “rebuke the devour for your sakes”. The devour includes the devil, and all of his plans to keep you trapped in fear. He wants to sabotage your attempts to get out of fear, so gas up with God. What do I mean? Fight fire with fire. The devil is a spirit we must fight spirit with spirit.

Naivity, or being ignorant, is the opposite of maturity, and mature love casts out fear.

“Now concerning (matters of spiritual nature) spiritual gifts, brethern, I would not have you ignorant.” 1 Corinthians 12:1

“Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devises.” 2 Corinthians 2:11

The Word of God plainly says not to be ignorant. Our power comes from believing God’s word through the authority and power of His son Jesus Christ. This is where the rubber meets the road. I heard a saying once from the mouth of an adolescent teen that cracked me up but it got the point across. He said, “Kick the devil out, he ain’t payin no rent.” You have to take a stand spiritually against fear.

“Keep thy heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life.” Proverbs 4:23

We have to guard our heart with all diligence. Why? Because the devil is just as diligent. He doesn’t take a day off. So we shouldn’t either.

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places]. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore…” Ephesians 6:12-14

You are more than a conqueror through Him that loves you! I know you can do it because so many others have already done it. And you are never alone when you have God on your side.
God bless you today!

10 Ways God Shows Us He Loves Us

You are so beautiful!

God chose you out of millions to walk with Him, to be guided by Him, and to be in fellowship with Him. What are you waiting for? Your time is now because God has equipped you for the journey. From the moment of your conception He’s been working in your life.

He says so many, many times in the Word.

“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.” Psalms 139:14

Woman, you are a powerful source of light and love to those around you. Don’t underestimate yourself. The times when you don’t feel like trying, He knows, and He loves you. The times when you think your not doing enough, you’re wrong, you are doing plenty but just don’t see everything He sees.

As your Parent, God longs to comfort your hurts and mend your broken heart.

“Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God:” 1 John 3:1a

“I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears” Psalms 34:4

As your Friend, who sticks closer than a brother, He knows just the thing to say to make everything better and give you hope.

“Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.” Psalms 27:17

As your Business Partner, He can’t wait to show you the way your endeavors will succeed with less effort, less stress and less time.

“Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous. A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion. Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance. He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.” Psalms 112:4-7

As your Mentor, He can show you the perfect solution to any problem.

“So when they continued asking him (Jesus), he lifted up himself, and said unto them, ‘He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.” John 8:7

As your Shepherd, He can bring you back to His flock and take away your fears.

“Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” Luke 12:32

As Your Protector, God, the Maker of the universe, will defend you with all His divinity, omnipotence and power.

“And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts.” Malachi 3:11

As Your Rescuer, He saved you from the jaws of death itself and gave you life through His son Jesus Christ.

“I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.” Psalms 18:3

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Romans 10:9

As your God, He will stretch out His arm and show you the beauties and wonders He set in place for you.

“Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee: Thou shewest lovingkindness unto thousands, and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them: the Great, the Mighty God, the LORD of hosts, is his name, Great in counsel, and mighty in work: for thine eyes are open upon all the ways of the sons of men: to give every one according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings: ” Jeremiah 32:17-19

As the God of All ages, He can’t wait to show you the blessings He has stored up for you in eternity.

“And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.” Ephesians 2:6-7

As the Creator of all mankind, He gave us this planet to utilize, subdue and enjoy. Go. Live your life and be blessed with all that He has done for you.

God Bless You Today!

Tapping the Resources of God’s Riches

You are more than a conqueror, through Him who loves you! God bless your wonderful heart today. Hey…why so glum? If your heart is heavy, your wants and needs press in on you, and you wish you had more, then you are in the right place today.

Did you know that action cures fear, but non-action strengthens fear. God did not give us the spirit of fear, but of power, and love and a sound mind. You need more, you want to achieve a new place in your life, you want God to fix things up for you…right? Then let’s get rid of fear with the next three parts of the first step towards the abundant life.

First we learned in the last posts that, the Word of God is the Will of God. We can’t touch the powerful fountain of God’s riches without knowing what they are. We have to find out what is available from God before we can ask for it. God’s Word overflows with promises. Check out the first post here. This series of posts is riddled with keys to unlocking the more abundant life.

Second, we learned that we must find out how to receive what is available into our lives. If God promises He’ll supply all our need, how do we receive that promise.

Today, we’ll study the next step. What do we do once we’ve got it? We’ve asked God what’s available, we found out how to receive it, now we must ask what to do once we’ve got that information. Here’s our example from yesterday.

Let’s continue from yesterday’s reading. Elisha told Naaman how to receive his miracle. It was a simple process. What did Naaman do next?

“And Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be clean.

But Naaman was wroth, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the LORD his God, and strike his hand over the place, and recover the leper.

[Are] not Abana and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? may I not wash in them, and be clean? So he turned and went away in a rage.

And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, [if] the prophet had bid thee [do some] great thing, wouldest thou not have done [it]? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean?” 2 Kings 5:10-13

Is Naaman moments from being healed? All he had to do was go do the procedure. Yes, but he must cross the vast chasm of his own pride. How many times do we do this?

What happened next?

“Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.” vs. 14

Wow! What a powerful miracle!

These are the first three steps, tomorrow we’ll talk about what two things have to be in place for any prayer to be answered. Spend some time in the Word today and find a promise that fits your situation. Ask God:

  1. What is available here for me?
  2. How do I receive it?
  3. What do I do once I’ve got it?

God bless you today!

How Do We Know What to Pray For?

Have you ever wondered why some prayer request don’t come to pass? What is stopping a healing for a Christian or why can’t a single woman praying for income, find a job? What happens when God doesn’t “come through” for us?

This has been the source of hundreds of hours of research for me, because God put this verse in His Word and made it a promise.

“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” 3 John 2

It sits like a gem among a treasure chest full of other similar verses. God wants us to prosper so why don’t some of us? 3 John 2 is an example of “availability”. God never intended for us to live in poverty and sickness. We shouldn’t live bound by frustrations, anxieties and fears. He wants us to prosper and be in good health. How many Christians believe, when things go wrong, that God is punishing them, or He is teaching them character. That thought process contradicts this verse and hundreds of others in His Word. Since the Word of God is the Will of God, we must look there to find out what is available.

Tight Rope Walking-001

“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19

God’s will is to supply all your need. Do we need our monthly bills paid? Do we need surplus money for emergencies? Do we need our health, our sleep, our peace of mind? Absolutely. This is God’s will for your life. Who determines the need? You do. Every need is different. Only you can decide what you need. You were given freewill, you deserve the opportunity to choose.

“And God [is] able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all [things], may abound to every good work:” 2 Corinthians 9:8

How are we going to have all sufficiency in all things, if it is not available?

“Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” Romans 8:37

How are we going to be more than conquerors in every situation if that was not possible? And how could I be more than a conqueror if the power was not available?

“That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;” Ephesians 3:16

How could I be strengthened with might in my inner man, if it was not accessible? Why did God put this in His Word if He wanted to let us get beaten by the adversary to teach us a lesson? I think not! The devil is a tricky one. He wants to convince people to put up with the beating, just like an abusive spouse would try. But the devil is wrong. We need only to escape from under his dictatorship and access the freedom in the power-filled truths God gave in His Word. We must dare to believe the Word of God.

“That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,

May be able to comprehend with all saints what [is] the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;

And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

Unto him [be] glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.” Ephesians 3:17-21

YEEHAW! I have a Bible Buzz! These words are truth! They have power when prayed by the lips of believing believers. Don’t let the devil sell you short. How can we believers stand on the promises of God if we do not know what they are? How can we believe the words in the Word if we do not find them and speak them into our lives? It’s easy to get distracted, but don’t. Hold tightly to those promises and take the victory. We are on a quest to find out what is available from God and achieve the abundant life. What should we pray for as believers? We know that after we find out what is available.

I’d like to show you over the next posts how one thing can change your perspective of God and pour high-octane fuel into the engine of your life.

God Bless You Today!

Where is That Fountain of Youth Anyway?

This body dies. Let’s face it. As we age, everything slides south. The dirt tub we flail around in, is going kah-poot. Instead of visiting the Heartbreak hotel, we start visiting the heartburn hotel. Instead of knickers under our knockers, we have knockers in our knickers. Yes, I just said that…ugh. I’m sorry. It’s this darned mortality gig. We can’t help it. But, there is something we can do about it.

Fountain of Youth-001

Why don’t we visit the fountain of youth? Let’s just find the elusive river of living waters.

“For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, [and] hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.” Jeremiah 2:13

Yesterday we talked about having the abundant life…really having it. This is the starting place. This is the point of no return. This is the lottery ticket. We have to embrace instead of forsake the fountain of living waters which is God, His incredible Word and His incredible Gift. What are we really without Him? This truth is a fountain of youth. Look what happens when you serve God.

“But they that wait (Hebrew word, qavah is a verb connoting action in service) upon the LORD shall renew [their] strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; [and] they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31

The most basic key for power in the abundant life is knowing one secret. One truth. A truth that will, if we allow it, transform this dying body into a power-filled ambassador of vitality and strength. It metamorphosis into the Greek word in John 10:10b’s; for “life,” is Zoe which is life brimming with energy and stamina. It is a key that we can stake our lives on.

The Bible is the revealed Word and Will of God.

A fountain is an unlimited supply of water. God says that “my people” have forsaken that unlimited supply and turned to broken cisterns. Cisterns only have a limited supply of water, but to have broken cisterns means their supply is leaking as well. What a tragedy! One we effectively live everyday when we decide to trust in our own devices.

Have you ever asked yourself what is the greatest sin you could commit? Murder? Adultery? Stealing? Nope. If you asked your friends and neighbors what it is, you’d come up with many answers.

What does the Word say?

“Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

This is the first and great commandment.” Matthew 22:37, 38

By simple logic we see that, if loving God is the first and greatest commandment, then the greatest sin is not loving God. That means putting something ahead of God. Anything that sneaks in front of Him. That includes hewing out our own leaky religious systems and ideologies. Our own thinking patterns.

“How excellent [is] thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings. They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures. For with thee [is] the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light. O continue thy lovingkindness unto them that know thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart.” Psalms 36:7-10

Could it really be that easy?

It’s that easy.

This world is all going to pass away, but the work you do for God will never pass away. We have an eternal source for our wisdom, strength and vitality. There is our fountain of youth. But Hosea 4:6 said, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…” This knowledge is not the latest Google search, the last newsfeed from your mobile device, or the latest New York Times bestselling, self-help book; that knowledge is the lack of knowledge of the revealed Word and Will of God. It must be more than just knowing about God’s Word. And that, my friend, is what we’ll begin on Monday. Don’t miss one of the posts, I am so excited to share these keys with you.

God Bless You Today!
