Isn’t it time you…

It’s been awhile since I posted last and I’m happy to say, I haven’t been gone forever, just busy. Today, I’d like to invite you to join us. We’ll be doing our first 8 week Bible study/workshop on the “5 Basics for Growth” Book. As I’ve been preparing for this workshop setting, I realised that each chapter touches on a subject in a very simple way that could be studied in far more depth. We are going to have so much fun, and don’t worry there’s not a ton of homework, just a ton of learning. Here is a video commercial that I hope you’ll all share on your social media pages.

Doesn’t It Feel Good To Belong?

What a joy it is to belong to the Church of God!

When we belong to the Church, we belong to the greatest and most powerful body in the world; there is nothing like the Church anywhere. The Church has such great power that even the gates of hell cannot prevail against it. That is why the devil cannot harm the people of the Church when they know the name of Jesus Christ and use that name, believing in it. Can you see why our prayers must be answered when we believe that Christ is in us? We can receive anything from God that He has promised in the Word if we only know and believe it. Everything that has been revealed in the Word we can thank God for, and, if we believe, it will come to pass.

“And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.” Colossians 3:17

“Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ” Ephesians 5:20

Do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks always.

“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19

What a name!

“And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.” 1 Corinthians 6:11

You have been washed and sanctified, and you have been justified in His name; but you must receive it before you can manifest it. WOW! Isn’t that awesome! We have power in His Name. We have the power of attorney that when we use the name of Jesus Christ, powerful, positive things must happen. No other body of people has this kind of witness!

“Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:

And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.” James 5:14,15

We all want to belong to something bigger than we are. What about belonging to the Family of God because of His son Jesus Christ? How much bigger can you get?

But, there’s one problem.

Less than 2% of all Christians ever truly depend on and rise to the greatness of just manifesting the power of their own birthright. Less than 2%! As a result, we have sick among us. There is strife and discord among the Church of God and nobody seems to know how to lead anymore.

We have the power to move the very gates of hell! But do we use it for it’s purpose? Do we love one another with it? Do we minister and pray for each other when we see a family member get hit?

“And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.” 1 John 3:23

The Church, in which you belong, has the power of attorney, the right to use the name of Jesus Christ. Now let’s believe together to bring positive results into our lives through this powerful name.  All you have to do is use it. It wasn’t earned, God gave it by grace. Nothing you DO will take it away. You have it! I guarantee that today, living in this world you will find some reason to manifest it. All you have to do is realize you’re own right and power as a born-again member of the Church of God.

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” John 10:10

You must claim that life yourself. You have the right to activate the powerful name of Jesus Christ and live the more than abundant life!

God bless you today!

042: Happy Birthday to the Church!

Today is the Day of Pentecost!

What does that mean? Today, is the day we recognize the founding of the Church of the Body of Christ. Approximately 2,015 years ago Jesus Christ died and the apostles waited for power from on high. It was fifty days after the Passover and the death of Jesus Christ.

In Luke 24:49 Jesus Christ instructed his apostles to wait.

“And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.” Luke 24:49

That power from on-high, was power from God.

“And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.” Acts 2:1

The day of Pentecost was already a Holy Day.

It was celebrated like we celebrate and observe Easter. We go to service and pray. Well the apostles all went to church too, but back then they did this at the temple, which was also called the house of God. It was also where there were many, many other people. Everyone in town would have come to the temple. People from all over the world in fact. IF you think about this from God’s perspective, what’s a better way to have a large number of people learn about the gift of power from on-high He was about to give the world then at the temple? Ha! Of course that’s where the apostles were. Look what happened next.

“And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.” Acts 2:2

“Oikos,” is the Greek word for house, it literally means, building, dwelling and the house of God, or the tabernacle. It was the house of God and the hour of prayer had come.

“Heaven” is any space above the earth, and the words, “rushing mighty wind” literally mean “heavy breathing” or the “mighty breath of life”. God was putting a new creation into being inside those apostles. It was a phenomenal event. Each time a new believer is born – again it is an act of creation inside them. When Adam was given a soul, God breathed the breath of life into him. Here again, we have the breath of life being given. Isn’t this incredible?! They were now given incorruptible seed or DNA that stamped them forever as God’s children. His adopted children.

“Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.” 1 Peter 1:23

What happened next?

“And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.” Acts 2:3

“Cloven” means split or divided. God wanted them to know that they had now received the power from on-high. It was a special sign just for them.

“And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” vs. 4

This was also a sign, but it was not just for them but for the unbelievers, this also shows every believer from this day forward that they are born-again, just like the apostles were. It proves that we too have the gift of holy spirit that God poured out on every believer and would continue to give to any who believe Romans 10:9-10.

“Wherefore tongues are for a sign:..” 1 Corinthians 14:22a

Here’s what happened next.

” 5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. 6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language. 7 And they were all amazed and marveled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galileans? 8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born? 9 Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia, 10 Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes, 11 Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God. ” Acts 2:5-12

This was an incredible event!

Men and women from all over the place could hear them speak in their own language. Tongue is the old English term for language. Talk about exciting!

It was so exciting that look what happened next in verse 41!

“Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added [unto them] about three thousand souls.” Acts 2:41

Three thousand people were born-again. Three thousand were now able to speak in tongues!

Speaking in tongues became a sign that someone had been born again. So if someone got born-again, but didn’t speak in tongues right away, there was a great concern among the apostles. They began referring to it as “receiving the Holy Ghost, (or Spirit)” because it always accompanied being born-again. Look at this record later in Acts.

“Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John: Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might (also) receive the Holy Ghost:” (Or speak in tongues) Acts 8 14-15

Simon the sorcerer, in this case, had bewitched the people for so long that they heard the word of God and believed it but did not manifest speaking in tongues. This was so inappropriate and wrong that the apostles sent the two head Apostles down to see what the problem was and get them back on track. If those men could only see what happens today! Whole denominations rebuke this wonderful sign and manifestation! Is that what God would have wanted or does want for His children today? Not by all accounts here. We are supposed to be born again and then immediately manifest the power from on-high.

“Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.” 1 Corinthians 14:39

How far off base have we allowed ourselves to live and be taught the accuracy of God’s Word?

My GoD! How much more in error could we be? IF you learned this from your church, pastor or fellow believer then now is your chance to change and manifest the wonderful gift inside you.

“For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.” Romans 12:3

We all have the same measure. God handed it out in the same size scoop-fulls to everyone.

Today, on this Day of Pentecost, why don’t we do what the Apostles did. Why don’t we speak with tongues more today, than we ever have.

God bless you today!

040: Never Give Up On Your Dreams!

Big dreams seem like running a syndicated broadcast are made up of tiny daily commitments. Big dreams like painting a mural that gets positive national media attention, requires daily commitments. And big dreams like owning the highest producing brokerage in the state takes big-little daily commitments. Every day, we have to have our eyes on our dreams. They can’t be a foggy. They must be a clear picture. It must be in focus and in must stay relevant.

What do you mean by relevant? Relevant is the dream that is flexible and do-able. It has immediate pay-offs as well as long-term pay-offs. It is big enough to move you. It feels like, if you don’t get up and do something everyday, then you aren’t going to get there. It feels like such a pull that your day isn’t quite complete without doing it. You feel funny if you haven’t done something for your dream.

The best thing about knowing God is, He can direct you to the dreams that are available, do-able, positive and most beneficial in your life. Why waste your time and life on dreams that will harm you in the end, or take away your morality with compromises? Who would want that? Yet, many people strive towards joy-sucking dreams and goals. God would never like that! He wants you blessed and having fun while you’re doing it!

step with God-001

Who told you that?

The one challenge I see many women face is; they don’t believe they are worthy to receive or achieve. Who told you that? And did you realize they are lying?

“Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:” Colossians 1:12-13

“Hath” is past tense. God already delivered us from darkness and put us in the kingdom of his Son. Why not embrace our new reality? Why let the devil convince us of a lie? We ARE worthy because God made it so. We have every bit of power, wisdom and strength and it’s already available.

In a world full of question marks, we have the exclamation point!

Dreams and goals let us live that exclamation point. What if your big goal, that scares you, is praying in front of other people for the first time? That is an amazing goal!

But I’m going to warn you the faster you get to that goal and overcome it, the further ahead you need to look. Make your goals happen fast, make deadlines for yourself so you get up and do something about them in the immediate world. You can only give in the present. So there’s no reason to condemn your past, and no reason to blow off your future. GIVE to this moment. And don’t assume you know what you’re giving will produce. Just give. Give liberally, without judgement to the second, minute and hour you’re in. Do that consistently and nothing will stop you!

God bless you today!

039: We Should Rename Wednesdays to…

What do you think? It’s a way to think positive about the day at the middle of the week.

How are you doing on this Win-day?

Have you ever seen the movie Mr Magorium’s Wonder Emporium? I saw it the other night and heard this quote. The quote so moved me that now I have it written down somewhere that I can see it always.

Watch this!

37 Seconds well used is a life time! Why should we wait for life? Why not live it? Why not embrace every second to its fullest capacity! Why not make it the very best 37 seconds of our lives?

Some of you will say, “But how Terri?”

There are 37 Ways, but for now how about just 1.

Appreciate the moment you’re in!

Today is a day of possibilities!

“This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalms 118:24

Here’s another quote from Mr. Magorium.

“Life is an occasion, rise to it!”

Today is your day to set the record books on fire. It’s a day to accomplish more than you ever hoped and dare to dream bigger than you’ve ever dreamed. Go ahead, reach out and connect with someone. Be vulnerable, be genuine, be real! Guard your heart, but love without limits. How can you do that? Isn’t loving someone and guarding your heart the opposite thing? Not when you do it right.

People think that when they love, they must wear their heart on their sleeve. Instead, it’s as simple as this. Ask God, “If you were me, how would you show them love?”

The reason this is different is, you are loving them with God’s love, agape; not human emotional love. Of course, it’s very hard to tell the difference at first. SO here’s the difference. God fills you with His love for His people of that child of His standing in front of you. He shows you how to see the very best in them and their potential…things you could’ve never seen on your own. You fall in love with Him and His perspective about them. He will never fail you. They might, and probably will. But your heart was safe so it doesn’t break. God just keeps on loving them, so can you. And you love them for all the right reasons.

It’s truly a Win-day for me. How about you!?

God bless you today!

038: Commitment Means Involvement

Every winner, from world cup soccer player, to championship sports team, or to a winning brand competitor knows that for things to happen, people must be committed. It doesn’t have to be large numbers of people, but a knowledgeable committed few.

Commitment is the dedication and perseverance of a worthwhile goal or dream. You have to chase it. You have to get involved. In the army, soldiers are trained for special forces and have skills for a specific line of work. They train for years and go to extra schooling.

God needs your help too. He needs a committed group for advanced training. These people would commit to one year of learning and mentorship.

What is Supporting Godly Champions? Or S.G.C?

This is a special group of people who will sign up below for one-on-one weekly mentoring sessions with Terri Porta for 1 year.

There will be weekly assignments with training in every aspect of a believers walk, from studying the Word, to learning the power and believing it takes to be a champion. There will be Quarterly Reviews of progress for accountability. Prayer teams and an Supporting Godly Champions Application process.

What you will see at the end of 1 year?

By the end of the year you will confidently be able believe God for your need to be met. You will have a better understanding of The Believer’s Walk. You will be able to operate 6 of the 9 manifestations if not all 9 of the manifestations with ease. You will know that you know that you are hearing God’s voice when He talks to you. You will be able to discern when the adversary is disrupting your life and you will know how to stop him in his tracks.  You will see measurable differences in your surroundings, such as improved relationships with your family, friends and work.

How can I make these huge claims?

Those who commit receive the greatest prize. I’ve seen and experienced dramatic changes in shorter periods of time. I feel I’m under-stating what God can and will do in the life of the people who sign up for this intensive course. Timing is very important though. Not just anyone or everyone is ready for this kind of program. You have to show the commitment level needed. It starts with filing out the Supporting Godly Champions Application.

Why am I offering the S.G.C. Program?

I am ready to help God see His goals and dreams come to pass. He wants every believer to come to full maturity in Christ. Full maturity is a place where they aren’t tossed to and fro with every wind of doctrine. They have a sound mind and know how to use all the tools they are given. Think of a physical human body. If a person never grew from the age 15 months forward and never matured, it would be cute at first. But after awhile it would become horrifying. A body must grow and mature. What about the inner man, a born-again babe? How do they grow? By being built up in Christ. By unifying in the faith in the knowledge of the Son of God. By accepting the full measure given to them through their gift of Holy Spirit. It’s a big deal. Don’t believe me? Check out these verses.

“For the perfecting (maturing) of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect (fully matured person) man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:” Ephesians 4:12-15

If you’re ready for this commitment sign up today.

037: Do You Know Why You’re Special?

It was a wild work weekend. I had so much to do and handle that I’m wondering what happened to it. Anyways, I’m so glad I’m back. I missed you!

I needed a little tune to get my heart softened, loved and blessed this morning, so I thought I’d share. 🙂

Sometimes when you’re sitting all alone, you need to know you’re special.

My son asked me this weekend, “Mom, why am I so special?”

I thought for a moment and was about to tell him that he is a rare combination of genes and DNA that makes him unique and special. More than any other kid alive.

He interrupted me and said, “Do you want me to tell you why?”

I replied, “Well sure! Why don’t you tell me why.”

“My pure heart.” He looked at me and then smiled. I knew at that moment, God had told him that truth. How could I argue with it? I can’t and didn’t. Ha! Out of the mouth of babes!

Do you know why YOU are special? Well, let me tell you. It’s your pure heart. You love God, like no one else in the world could. You do it with all your unique blends of heart, soul, mind and strength.

“Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently” 1 Peter 1:22

God Bless You Today!
