What’s Next God

“Commit thy Works Unto the Lord and Thy Thoughts Will Be Established.” Proverbs 16:3

Let’s break that down.

The first word “Commit” is very interesting because it is the Hebrew word “galal” and is translated into several different words. Most commonly it’s translated, “roll” or “roll down”. When the Jacob found or dug a well of water his people would cover it by rolling a large stone over the mouth of the hole. When they wanted their sheep or cattle to drink, the men would then push the stone out-of-the-way. It protected the water, but it also took some work to get it moved. The stone protected their most valuable asset, water. They lived in a very dry area. That water was life-giving.

“And they said, We cannot, until all the flocks be gathered together, and till they roll H1556 the stone from the well’s mouth; then we water the sheep.” Genesis 29:8

They had to put their backs into it and push with all the power and force of their bodily strength. When we commit to something, we have to put our backs into it too.

“Thy Works,” is the next phrase. Those words are translated from “ma`aseh”

Here’s the list of the meanings.

Deed, work,  thing done, act, work, labor, business, pursuit, undertaking, enterprise, achievement, deeds, works (of deliverance and judgment), work, thing made. Work (of God)

Here’s some examples of how it’s used;

“And he called his name Noah, saying, This same shall comfort us concerning our work H4639 and toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD hath cursed.” Genesis 5:29

What do you DO for God. IF you are are minister, get out and minister, if you are a helper, get out and help, if you are a prophet get out and DO the work with all the strength you can muster.

“Unto God,” is translated from, unto Yĕhovah, or Jehovah. There are seven names of God, this is the one that means Supreme God, or One true God.

“These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD H3068 God made the earth and the heavens,” Genesis 2:4

This is the most supreme commander, all-powerful, all-knowing all loving God. SO He’s the guy we obey. Is Jesus Christ that Guy? Simply put. No. He’s Jesus Christ, God’s son. God is God. He’s who we get our orders from. Even Jesus didn’t claim to be “God”. He knew that would be blaspheming his Father and the Ruler of all things.

“And thy thoughts” , is all one phrase in Proverbs 16:3 and translated from one word, machashabah.  Machashabah means literally thought, device, plan or purpose.

Here’s a usage of the verse;

“Behold, I know your thoughts, and the devices (machashabah) which ye wrongfully imagine against me.” Job 21:27

These are your inner desires, plans and motives or they could be someone else’s. The word is neither positive nor negative.

Wow are you getting excited? I am.

“Shall be established” is one little Hebrew word, kuwn. It means, to be established, be stable, be secure, be enduring. To be fixed, be securely determined. To be directed aright, be fixed aright, be steadfast (moral sense). To prepare, be ready,  and to be prepared, be arranged, be settled.

Here’s one way it is used;

“And for that the dream was doubled unto Pharaoh twice; it is because the thing is established by God, and God will shortly bring it to pass.” Genesis 41:32

That verse in Proverbs is an amazing reminder to have your feet firmly planted, rooted and established on the One True God. It also tells me that your thoughts, perceptions, and understanding of why God had you do something will come after you obey. So many of us get that confused. Commit thy works, just do what He asked. Don’t question, don’t argue. God knows what His plan is. He sees all things.

Listen to the verse right before this one. “All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the Lord weigheth the spirits.” Proverbs 16:2.

We think we know what is going on, when God sees every aspect including spiritual influences.

Someone told me a phrase once; When things come up this should be your instinctual reaction.

  1. Stay Calm. Having emotional knee jerk reactions is our choice. Everytime. WE choose how to react.
  2. Take out the Spirits, God has given us great power to affect change right here on earth. Use it in the name of Jesus Christ our power of attorney.
  3. Walk in Love. This is our only way of knowing we’re doing things right. God is love, when we ask Him what to do next, we walk in love.

God knows this situation inside and out and He asks you to walk in Love through it all. How can you do that when you are emotionally tangled up in the situation? Beats me. Emotions are there for a reason, but we have to make sure they are under our control.

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil. Proverbs 3:5-7

Or how about this one in the new testament?

“For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” Romans 8:6

“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they ARE the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. Romans 8:14-15

When we commit our works we get rid of fear. We get rid of worry and pride too. We have life and peace. Get your feet moving my friend.

What’s Next God? What’s NEXT? There are billions of people, millions of choices for your life and even more importantly one great big God who loves you and saved you. YOU ARE POWERFUL! Each choice to be led by God is crippling to the enemy and his arsenal of fear. Choose to believe that your very intimate and loving Father will guide you and protect you in every circumstance. You are an heir to His Spiritual Fortune. Claim your right and place. You deserve it!

And I love you dearly.

God bless you today!

SGW Podcast Radio Show….Okay, it’s really just me talking again.

Hi Everybody!

I recorded our meeting on Wednesday, put some music to it, and now we’ve got a podcast. Yehaw! There is a video at the end of it that the sound doesn’t play too well on, so I added that to this post below. I talk a little more afterward, but here’s the video that I played for the group.

So what the heck am I rambling on about? I don’t want to just say….you’ll see. I think you need some forewarning here.

In this meeting, I go over something kind of cray cray! I had asked myself, what am I doing this for? Why should I care? Then in the quiet of my private thoughts and office at home, the answer came. It wasn’t just a gentle little, “Ah, you’ll be okay. Cheer up kiddo.” From God like I sometimes get. It was a “WHOOP WHOOP!”  And a, “I know! Pick me, pick me!” Then, the next thing I know, I’m listening to this old song I have and dancing around the room. YUP, kind a cray cray.

Whether you get or believe what I’m about to teach here or not, it gives a ton of hope. And there isn’t anything in this world as restorative as hope. So come back here and watch the video when you’re done, cuz then it’s gonna all make more sense.

God Bless You Today!

“We Are Bema Bound!”

Watch this video afterwards. (If you want…lol)

How to Make this Your Summer of Prosperity

Have you been feeling down? Have you wondered if God really loves you because circumstances have left you wanting? I’ve had several friends get hit pretty hard this last year with situations that left them breathless. Did you know that even when hit the hardest you can still have peace with God? You can still have prosperity. In fact, let’s take back your life!. Let’s make such a turn around that you call this your summer of prosperity!

There 3 Key Ingredients to Life-Morphing Change with God.

We must LEARN the right perspective. The right perspective is that God is still teaching you. Be open to that. When WE think WE know it all, we tie God’s hands to teach us something new. Learning is a key ingredient. Hunger is always the best seasoning in any meal. It’s also the best seasoning in any lesson. We have to want change. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve talked to people who want to simply hang on to their mind-set. Let’s see, the one True God, Maker of the Universe has something to teach you and show you. But, how can He when you have crossed your mental arms at Him? How would you teach someone like that?

No, we have to stay hungry and stay open to hearing God’s thoughts on any matter.

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” Jeremiah 29:11

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9

And this is really important, we must BELIEVE FOR the change that we want to happen. So many times we get caught up in the doubts and worries of situations. They only get worse when we let our minds do that. Our mind is a weapon in our fight. We can use it to focus our believing or we can let it wander and destroy all the good that has been wrought in our lives. God gave us freewill so He could have fellowship with us one-on-one. So we have to get our minds behind in the fight for our own peace.

The devil doesn’t want us renewing our minds. He wants us distracted and flustered with drama. He wants us all upset. But if we visualize our own success like an athlete visualizing a home run hit, we too can start seeing the momentum. God wants a relationship with you. God wants you to prosper abundantly as it says in John 10:10b, “I am come that they might have life and have it more than abundant,”. Take back your believing and start believing for success. Every time a negative situation comes up, make your mind track with the truth of God’s Word.

There is a part (B) to this ingredient, we not only must believe in our own success, but we must believe God is willing and able to give it to us. He is equally willing and equally able to pour it on in our lives. God is faithful to supply all our needs just like He promised AND He is able to supply all our needs. If this is difficult for you then you need to do the extra hard work to convince yourself of that. GO to God’s Word. Find the abundance verses then say them over and over and use them to train your brain.

And finally, you must DO what God says to bring about that prosperity. So many people hear or see things come to pass that don’t seem right and they just take it on the chin. They let the situation go on and on never stand up for themselves or their abundant life. We can’t do that here, not on this earth, where it says in 2 Cor. 4:4 that Satan, the god of this world has blinded the minds of men. We have to be the ones with the light. We can’t go the same direction as the wandering blind masses go. We have to stand up to all that. We have to DO things differently. In addition, if we hear all this great stuff, but never do anything we’ll never see the change we so desperately need. Do is the biggest little word in the whole Bible. “Be ye doers of the Word, not hearers only.”

Success and prosperity are well within your reach now.

God bless you today!

What is the One Way to Spot a Great Leader Early On?

Are you, potentially, a great leader?

How can we tell? Are there markers or signs early on? Is it your schooling? Your degree? If you have a degree that sets you apart?

Leadership is essential to spreading any message. #Leaders define the culture of a nation. All good and bad consequences are laid at the feet of the #leadership while they are in authority.

“When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.” Proverbs 29:2

Wow, that’s a difference between results! It seems that the righteous, or those who believe right, have a much different way of handling leadership and authority. The difference is so easily identified that, in the end, the people mourn or they rejoice. But what is the real early sign or mark of a leader? In my last post, we talked about #discipline. Is discipline that is the real marker between a good leader and a bad? No. All leadership takes discipline whether good or bad. What about faith or being religious, versus not being religious? Is that the true sign of a good leader?  Not necessarily, there have been plenty of religious leaders in our day who knew the Word of God and were troubled and dark people. So what is the real marker? How can we look into someone’s life and spot the blossoming leadership early on?

Well, to be honest, there are plenty of markers.

Humility, honesty, goodness, and patience are all great representative qualities in a leader. But then, all of these could be manufactured and faked by someone trying to spin or court your vote. A politician putting on a patriotic flag pin, kissing babies can look the part and win the love. No this marker cannot be faked. In fact, sometimes it makes the leader look weak, scattered, and cryptic. This marker keeps the the leader from being pigeon-holed by others. It puts him in the right place at the right time. It oozes out and shows itself in the least likely ways and once you know what the marker is, you will be sure you’ve seen it in less than 1% of the people you’ve ever come in contact with much less leaders.

They say that humility is being willing to listen to what God has to say on a subject. That’s pretty phenomenal, all on its own. Let’s be honest anyone can listen. But here’s where the rubber meets the road. What does that leader DO with the information he/she received from God?

“Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him show out of a good conversation (or behavior) his works with meekness of wisdom.” James 3:13

Meekness is being willing to DO what the Lord instructs us to do.

His works, his behavior, his lifestyle should show how much he is listening to God. In the Church of God, leadership is already set up by God. These leaders are apostles and prophets, teachers, pastors and evangelists. There are also helps and governments. The mark of great leadership is meekness. Every time something comes up, this is the man or woman who stops and listens to God, but then he/she goes about doing whatever God said to do. That means sometimes that person is alone and sometimes they draw a circle of people around them.

God is a problem solver.

He wants us to strive for peace in our life because the devil is a chaos maker. We have to be willing to do the solving God presents in times of chaos. We have to do something with that wisdom. So many people just want to focus on the problem, or complain. How many will roll up their sleeves with God and do what He instructs and when no matter how long it takes. These are the leaders. This is how God identifies them. And really they show themselves. The more willing you are to do little things for God the more He gives you jobs to do. Doesn’t this make so much sense?

The meek ones are not always the most popular in the polls, or the ones who flamboyantly proclaim themselves. They are the ones, more often than not, running around quietly taking care of things for God.

“The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that seek him: your heart shall live for ever.” Psalms 22:26

“The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.” Psalms 25:9

“But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.” Psalms 37:11

Jesus Christ said these words, “Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.” Matthew 11:29

“But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.” 1 Peter 3:4

There is great reward at the end of this road for the man or woman who puts their own pride aside and says, “God, if you were me what would you do?”

God bless you today!

Ba Humbug or Be Still and Know?

Have you been suffering from a lack of “Holiday Spirit”?

I sat down on Christmas day thinking…”Okay Terri, wake up, get in the mood, start feeling it.” The holiday just didn’t seem to have the kick it used to have. My sweet sister-in-law, who works in retail, said the same thing. This year just didn’t feel very “Christmasy”, and she was inundated from the moment she hit the door of her store. It can’t just be us. There must be others out there. And doesn’t God want us to have the Christmas Spirit? What do I do personally to change my Ba Humbug into Be Still and Know?

My first go-to move is to put up and decorate the tree, then I bake a batch of cookies, sing a Christmas carol, or just turn on Christmas music. I’d try to find the most festive meals and work on planning it out for the day of events. BUT STILL…even on the day of Christmas there was nothing, nada, zilch in the festive department.

I begin wondering…”What’s wrong with me?”

Then I saw this verse and sighed.

“For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness and peace, and the joy in the Holy Ghost (Holy Spirit).” Romans 14:17

One of the phrases in this verse reminds me of another verse.

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33

Do you see the phrase there, “kingdom of God,” and the word “righteousness.” I ask myself, what do I already know about those words? I know that God is Holy, and God is spirit. He can only give what He is. So He gave the Holy Spirit as a gift to us after the day of Pentecost. I know that all Spirit is invisible to the human eye. In the verse in Romans 14:17, we see the words “peace” and “joy”. I’ve seen those associated to the Holy Spirit elsewhere as well.

“Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like:….that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” Galatians 5:19-23

If we keep reading, we see into the heart of the meaning a little further.

“If we live in the Spirit , let us also walk in the Spirit.” vs. 25

What could all this mean?

For me, it reinforces the effusive and unrestrained meaning of Romans 14:17.

Who do we serve, and how?

“For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness and peace, and the joy in the Holy Ghost (or Holy Spirit).” Romans 14:17

Let’s read on…”For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men. Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace and things wherewith one may edify (build up) another.” vs. 18-19

Wow, did you see that? Do you see what the bolded words emphasize? It’s all about our heart. It’s in who we serve. Are we serving and asking God if you were me how would you handle this heart? In Christ, here means in the anointing that we received. It’s in that gift of Holy Spirit. We can only access the spirit by  doing one or all of the nine manifestations of the gift of holy spirit. When we do those, we receive joy, peace, longsuffering etc because that is the outcome of doing them. Think of that song, “JOY to the World the Lord is come…” what if everyone in the world today knew how to receive JOY? Joy is a spiritual fruit. Happiness is condition based and circumstance based, but JOY can only come from God. Wow. Righteousness comes from right believing and peace, well, we all know Peace comes from the God of Peace. Not from tinsel, songs, traditions, or dinners. It comes immediately from the well-spring of life. God. The Father of All Spirits and Spiritual things.

Here’s an exercise to try.

Get somewhere quiet. Close your eyes and speak in tongues for five minutes as slowly as you possibly can speak. Breath in and out with each word. You will not know the language or understand it. IF you’ve never done this don’t worry, there is no wrong way to speak in tongues. You just pretend like your speaking a language that you’ve never learned. It’s so simple a 4-year-old could do it. Trust me, the God of Flesh made you and created this wonderful manifestation…you can’t break it or do it wrong.

When you’re finished, you will “feel” better. But remember, that “feelings” are a physical and emotional thing, not spiritual, so if you don’t “feel” different, don’t worry about that either. Sometimes it takes a while to learn what joy, peace and all the other five fruit of the spirit “feels” like. We’re not used to them in our society. That’s why I recommend you doing this exercise diligently 3-5 times a day for the first week. By the end of the week you will have a new perspective.

This exercise is between you and God. You have to move out and believe. Anytime you take a step like that towards God and His Kingdom, you receive from Him. I like to go into new things with an open heart to God. I ask, “What could I learn from doing this?” or another question I ask is, “Will it hurt me or will I regret doing it?”

I ask those questions because, I’m cautious about new things, just like many of you. But I also know that I will not grow if I never try anything different?

If the Apostle Paul can write these words, “I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all.” in 1 Corinthians 14:18, there has to be something to it. Paul believed so big, that he moved the Word of God across all Asia in a span of two years.  Special miracles were wrought by the hands of Paul, and Paul was the one God revealed the greatness of the Mystery to the saints, I think there was something to this speaking in tongues thing. We know that when we do any of the nine manifestations we are walking IN the spirit. How could we go wrong?

Below I have some links to help you if you are new to this concept. It would be a great New Year’s resolution to grow with God.

God bless you today!

Are You Called Out by God?

“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” Joshua 1:9

I feel like that is the verse of the day.

Wow! I had to reread it again and again taking each word one word at a time. It soaks into you like moisture into a wilting plant. This verse is back in Joshua and Joshua was the successor to Moses. Moses had been told to lead the Children of Israel to the Promise Land. But Moses never made it in. Neither did very many of his peers. He saw it, but he never went in. Did he fail? Did he faint at the task? God took Moses up to look at the Promise Land but had told him in Deuteronomy that he would not go in. Could you wait? Could you or I stop before reaching a big goal like that if God asked you to? Could you hand the task off to another? Moses was a prophet so powerful, so respected and so revered by the Israelites that they said there was none other who had come before him greater. Wow! He had led millions of people to freedom from slavery. This is a very strong minister with a huge ministry. Now God is telling his successor to take up the cause and go forward without fear. Wow.

God past the gavel to Joshua.

“And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom; for Moses had laid his hands upon him: and the children of Israel hearkened unto him, and did as the LORD commanded Moses.” Deuteronomy 34:9

Let’s look at, Paul, another minister, and his strong words.

“Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things. Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel: Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound.” 2 Timothy 2:7-9

Here we see Paul writing to Timothy, his successor, and he said, I have suffered because of my gospel. Paul claimed this revelation as “HIS gospel”. It was his ministry, his task.

How could he say that? Jesus Christ WAS raised from the dead by God.

How could Paul come along and call it HIS gospel?

He could call it his, because God calls MEN and WOMEN to His work. God calls individuals. He never calls organizations or committees. He never calls churches, or schools. He calls people. When God calls it’s up to us to make our calling, our ministry, our job OUR OWN. That’s why Paul could say it was “his gospel”. He’d been the one to spread the Word over all of Asia in 2 years. He was the one moving his legs, arms, body, tongue and mouth to do God’s will. He was not a machine. He made a choice. Just as God asked Joshua to have no fear, to be strong, and to be of a good courage, Paul did as well. Paul made that ministry his own.

So how are we called? Does God still do this sort of thing?

Oh yes. God is very much alive, and VERY much doing BIG things in the lives of those He called. But how do you know that it’s you?

Well, it happened when you were born. No not born in the flesh as a baby, but born-again of God’s Spirit. That calling happened the day you believed.

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved, for with the heart man believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Romans 10:9-10

The moment that proceedure took place you were born-again. For me it happened when I was 5 years old. It was my sweet mother who helped me along.

But Terri, how do we know we are “called out” because of believing this one little thing? I mean Terri, I thought the called out ones were ministers like Paul, Moses and Joshua. Who am I?

Oh, but you could never be, just little ol’ you now.

You, my friend, are called out.

Look at Ephesians, a love letter to you from God.

“I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. [There is] one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who [is] above all, and through all, and in you all. But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.” Ephesians 4:1-7

Wowzah! One calling, one spirit, one bond of peace. WOW! That word called in the Greek is the word, kaleō. It means to invite. God handed out one invitation to all of us when He handed out salvation. We are called to a work, to a greater work than that of normal living. IF that is so what is our ministry?

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. [18] And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; [19] To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. [20] Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. [21] For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” 2 Corinthians 5:17-21

We have all been called to walk worthy and we have all been given a ministry. It is the same ministry Jesus Christ had. He calls it the ministry of reconciliation. Oh sure, we can get hung up on titles and opinions of men and women, but this is our “Calling”. And in my opinion there is no greater calling.

Can we know where that calling is?

Sure!! Look around you! Are there hurting hearts? Are there people burdened by the world’s deceitful lies? Are there people needing healing, prayer and a direction in the daily world you live in? So many people get caught up thinking that old trick of the…

Have, Do, Be.

Here’s what I mean.

Once I HAVE my ministry, then I’ll DO big things for God, and then I’ll BE called out as His minister. But it doesn’t work that way. You have to change that around. You need to be willing to do for God right now, in your daily life. He called you. He asked for you. He believes and empowered you! And God never regrets the gifts He gives. I’ll leave you with one last thing.

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

What kind of life could we live if we believed this? I mean really believed it to the bottom of our core? Today is your day to shine in the gospel you’ve been given. So be strong, be of a good courage, God is with you withersoever thou goest!

God bless you today!
