SGW Podcast Radio Show….Okay, it’s really just me talking again.

Hi Everybody!

I recorded our meeting on Wednesday, put some music to it, and now we’ve got a podcast. Yehaw! There is a video at the end of it that the sound doesn’t play too well on, so I added that to this post below. I talk a little more afterward, but here’s the video that I played for the group.

So what the heck am I rambling on about? I don’t want to just say….you’ll see. I think you need some forewarning here.

In this meeting, I go over something kind of cray cray! I had asked myself, what am I doing this for? Why should I care? Then in the quiet of my private thoughts and office at home, the answer came. It wasn’t just a gentle little, “Ah, you’ll be okay. Cheer up kiddo.” From God like I sometimes get. It was a “WHOOP WHOOP!”  And a, “I know! Pick me, pick me!” Then, the next thing I know, I’m listening to this old song I have and dancing around the room. YUP, kind a cray cray.

Whether you get or believe what I’m about to teach here or not, it gives a ton of hope. And there isn’t anything in this world as restorative as hope. So come back here and watch the video when you’re done, cuz then it’s gonna all make more sense.

God Bless You Today!

“We Are Bema Bound!”

Watch this video afterwards. (If you want…lol)

And There I was…

heaven-001

****

Every neuron in my brain detonating in synchronized song. I drew a deep ragged breath as the last shred of thought made inquiries to my body. Are you there? Are you alive? What still works? Am I dead now?

“It’s time Terri, you may come with me now.”

“Where am I?”

“Open your eyes.”

Light blinded my pupils as I focused. There stood the Son of the most High God with his hand out to me.

“Jesus?”

“Yes. I’ve come to gather you together with our brothers and sisters. Father wants you all to come home now.”

“Home? You mean…” gulp, “…heaven?”

I looked down at the glowing light in my hands and feet. My veins surged with life quickening spirit instead of blood. I wasn’t standing on solid earth, I stood high above it. Around me other’s smiles of those I’d known in my life and those who had died before me were rejoicing and lifting holy hands. Then another sound blasted. I recognized it. The long and short of a clear tenor horn. Christ Jesus, our risen Lord, lowered the horn from his smile. His crown was radiant, his clothes shimmering and alive. Fire and truth shot from his eyes as HIS triumph descended on my mind. He had come to take us home. I looked around as someone grabbed my hand. I looked over and saw my son, my husband, my mother, my brothers and my family. Then I looked up. We were going there, towards Father. Towards the holiest of holy, the light of all lights. Love washed over me and beckoned me forward…

*****

That was just a taste of what the moment Jesus Christ comes back might be like for us. Sometimes it’s good to think about that moment. It keeps all our priorities in check and brings our decisions into focus. It could happen today, or it could be a thousand years from now.

What are you striving for? What does life mean to you?

If you believed Romans 10:9-10 at any time in your life, you will be there too. I can’t wait and sometimes I like to daydream about it. Here, Paul was dreaming of it too.

“But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep (are dead) in Jesus will God bring with him.

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive [and] remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent (precede) them which are asleep (dead).

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Wherefore comfort one another with these words.” 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

This is for all you who have lost a dear one. My heart goes out to you and I long to comfort you with the everlasting arms of God’s hope. That hope is…we will see them again. And we will have all of eternity with them.

God bless you today!

Are We There Yet?

My little boy asked me two questions. These two are the beginning of years of the same questions, and the first time I’ve ever heard him utter them together. When he did, I chuckled then cringed. Do all kids ask these two? What happens? Is there a power surge of genetic growth one day and suddenly they know which two to start asking over and over and over again?

He asked me, “Are we there yet?”

Where did that come from? He was playing alone in the living room, and then pops up with that out of the blue? When I replied, “No,” he tipped his head to one side and asked, “Why?”

Then it began. Everything I said he’d finish with one last word, “Why?” My throat is sore today from all the extra explaining I did to my three-year-old. Now I know why my mother said the phrase I swore I’d never say, “Because I said so and I’m the Mommy!”

Do you think God ever thinks that? “Because I said so and I’m your Father.”

I do want to ask Him one question over and over on days like…everyday.

“Are we there yet?”

Of course the verse that pops into my head is;

“And he (Jesus) said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.” Acts 1:7

It was his way of saying, “We’ll get there when we get there.” Although God explains when we get there, what it will be like for us.

“In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.” 1 Corinthians 15:52

My next question is, “Why?”

(Okay… so now I see where my son gets it. He really is a brilliant child.)

The funny thing is, God answers it for me in the next few verses in 1 Corinthians. Check this out.

“For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal [must] put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where [is] thy sting? O grave, where [is] thy victory? The sting of death [is] sin; and the strength of sin [is] the law. But thanks [be] to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” 1 Cor. 15:53-58

The trump shall sound and the dead shall rise. Wow! Let me ask you something. IF the dead are already in heaven, why then would God put them back in the ground and raise them again at the last trump? It says here, that the dead shall rise at the last trump. Has the last trump sounded yet? Then are the dead alive now?

“But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive [and] remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent (precede) them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.” 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

Why does God call death, “sleep”? Because at some point in the future, we are going to wake up. We are all going to wake up. There’s that trump again. This is all one big event. How exciting! So if our relatives are not “up” yet, then who are these people talking to that claim they’ve seen them? Our answer is back in 1 Samuel, where God called it as it was.

“Then said Saul unto his servants, Seek me a woman that hath a familiar spirit, that I may go to her, and enquire of her. And his servants said to him, Behold, [there is] a woman that hath a familiar spirit at Endor.” 1 Samuel 28:7

What is a familiar spirit? A spirit that is familiar with the countenance of a person. A spirit can look like anyone, and anything. It can look like you’re old dog Bowzer, if it was trying to convince you. But Saul went to her, the rest of the story says he asked her to raise Samuel. Was Samuel “up” yet? Not if we believe what the Word of God says and let the Word speak for itself. We are the workers of the Word, we are the ones charged to rightly divide it. So who was he talking to? Yep, a spirit that was familiar with Samuel’s countenance.

That is an awesome account that I suggest anyone, looking further into that subject, should research.

For today, I’d like to ask, are we there yet? No. But it is available to earn treasures in heaven while we’re here. Like this one…

“Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” 1 Timothy 4:8

God Bless You today!

What Are You Anticipating?

Ephesians 3:21; Unto him [be] glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

Remember back when you were little and you were learning all about Christmas? You clearly understood that a very special day was coming. A day when time paused to celebrate hope, goodness and the birth of one particular child, Jesus Christ. You dove into the paper covered presents, enjoyed endless playtime, and a lavish dinner to top off the festivities, until you dropped of exhaustion at the end of that day.

Christmas is still one of my favorite holidays and it’s fast approaching. As I peeked around the Halloween candy aisle yesterday I noticed the twinkling onslaught of the most prized holiday in commercial sales land. A hyper-anticipation simmers below the heart of every sly hint and timid request because Christmas was almost here.

When I think of this verse, I have the same anticipation. But not about Christmas. As a human-designed holiday it cannot begin to touch the scope of festivities that is to come. It says here “world without end”, that tells me Paul believed this old rock, called Earth, would be spinning for a while. (That “end of the world” phrase isn’t even accurate) But at some point, Jesus Christ is going to return.

1 Thessalonians 4:13; For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

What kind of anticipation do you have for his return? Did you know that, with the promise from Eph. 3:20, (yesterday’s verse) and this verse, plus all the verses we’ve gone over in this Ephesians study we now have THEE recipe for an everyday-like-Christmas kind of life? Then when you join Christ in the air–whether you are raised from the grave at that time or you are still alive and join him–you are going to live an eternally blessed and joyful everyday-like-triple-Christmas kind of life! Who believes that with me? Who wants that for themselves? Can I repeat the promise.

Ephesians 3:20; Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.

Now, go and use that power!

Let loose and believe for all kinds of miracles!

Heaven: Who Will You Talk to First?

Ephesians 1:14; Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

Here we go again, with this praise of his glory business. WHY does he keep saying that? Have you ever been proud of a really great idea? God has every right to be proud of the plan of salvation. Especially this earnest of our inheritance comment.

Earnest

When you are going to buy a house you write-up a contract with your realtor, and then you put an earnest money deposit down. Usually this amount is $500. Though some people put down more, towards the purchase. On a $200,000 home this is less than .03% of the asking price. It’s a tiny sliver of the total price. God is telling us verse 12; about the Holy Spirit of promise, is only an  earnest or literally a token of our inheritance. Whoa! This token is pretty awesome! And it’s only a tiny percentage of the total package. Is anyone else feeling blessed here?

Redemption

I have a certificate for a spa day that will give me 4 relaxing visits. I am so excited to go redeem this certificate, especially the hot-stone massage. We are God’s purchased possession from the power and authority of the devil. The redemption of that possession is like that spa certificate. And you can bet that God is pretty excited to one-day call us all home. The holy spirit is like our certificate for this great day. To redeem it, all we have to do is believe that God already raised Jesus Christ from the dead. I’m excited aren’t you?

Who are you going to talk to first when that day comes? For me it will be my Grandpa Wayne. I like to think I carried forth his torch in the ministry, because he was a pastor for a very long time. I’m sure we’ll have a lot to talk about.

Do You Want to Party?

Ephesians 1:10; That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; in him.

This world is not my home, I'm just a passing through...

When you go shopping and take all your purchases to the counter, you have one last task before you’re done. The check out. The “dispensation of the fullness of times” is this time for God. He is going to send Jesus Christ back here to Earth, to gather his purchased items together, and take us home. This world is not the end of the road for us who believe. It is only the beginning. I like to say, once you’re born again that is the beginning of your eternal life. Do you want to spend it believing that you’re getting clobbered by the devil every day? Or would you rather be victorious? You decide.

The Party

This “gathering together” is the biggest party event in the universe! I can’t wait to be there. It is our hope, it is what we as believers can look forward to our entire lives. We are only ambassadors here on this planet and someday we are going to go home and be with the Lord.

You aren’t home yet.

1 Thessalonians 4:15-18; For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent (precede, or go before) them which are asleep (already dead). For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first (that day), then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

Ephesians is God’s personal letter to you. He wants you to know this stuff because he loves you. Take comfort today from his words.
